My sega genesis games when i start it, it says made by sega then it goes black

You have to blow the cartrige (it may be dirty)
the last thing to do is to clean the connections of the cartridge by
scratching softly (so to clean and not break) the cartridge dirty
connections.

That's the problem!

Do this with someone! if you do too hard you may ruin it!

Recently got a SEGA Genesis from GoodWill. When I put in a game the screen is very distorted and covered in pink pixels but the sound comes through just fine. Is it maybe the connector pins that need...

Under most circumstances the data is not dysfunctional. If other games work on your setup, than it's that individual game that is messed up, and the first thing that goes is the pins.

Console goes to "Sega text,

Well I think its because that the consoles mechanics are breaking unless you can install a new cartiage reader then the console could be on its last of its life then.

Genesis loads up shows licensed by sega then freezes

The problem doesn't come from your console, but from your game cartridge. I had the same problem, and I've stumbled upon your question while Googling about it.

Recently, I wrote a tutorial about how to solve this problem which affects most old consoles that use game cartridges, such as the NES, the Nintendo 64 and the Genesis.

The tutorial is in French, so here's link to a translation by Google Translate: http://is.gd/52USF
Please ignore grammatical mistakes, as those are the result of the automatic translation. The tutorial is about NES cartridges, but it works with any gaming system that uses cartridges.

some games worked for a while, some didnt.
its the dreamcast.
you might wanna get anew power cable or just clear out the dust because that is the main problem with the dreamcast.
try playing with the console upside down
it sounds crazy but it worked for me.
