I just put a new cartridge in my HP Laserjet 1012 and nothing is printing. The pages are blank. Its almost like there is no ink in the new cartridge? Anything I need to change in system preferences when inserting a new cartridge? I pulled the tab and put in cartridge in the correct way..help? I need to print some stuff for work!

This can be caused by a number of reasons however it is mostly caused by the toner cartridge missing a small spring on one end. Try replacing toner cartridge first.
Run a half test. Put paper in the manual feed tray(tray 1). Send a print job to printer. When the paper gets 3/4 of the way into the printer, open the cover. Pull out the toner cartridge, look down at the sheet inside the printer. Does it have the streak on the left side? If yes...your toner cartridge is bad. If no...replace the fuser.
first disconnect the unit from the computer then reset it on your computer go to control panel and add remove files and click on your printer file and select updat/repair but not remove and that will reload your software. reboot and connect your printer and start the test..that may over power the problem, if not try to reload just the driver
This is a drum issue. Perhaps the drum needs to be cleaned (A soft cotton cloth may help). If the lines are vertical, it's possible that the drum was scratched and may need replacement.
