"Skip Blank Page" Set to 0.1% Yet still skips pages with footers and headers

Hi,

Just got a 9080c, working great except for the skip blank page function.

We have a few pages from emails and such that have a second 'blank' page however when the original was printed, it printed on to two pages. We need to keep both sides as the front page says 'Page 1 or 2' - so for compliance we need to prove there was indeed nothing on Page 2.

On Page 2 (the other side of the page there is 'Page 2 of 2' printed on the top right and also the date '03/01/2007' at the bottom left - nothing else. This to me is more than 0.1% of the page cover in black pixels...however it just skips them...

At the moment our scanner employee is duplexing the whole lot and then manually removing the real blank pages...

Below is a jpg of our page we want the scanner to pick up:

Any ideas? Thanks!

Have you adjusted the blank page slider i? Move the slider to set the Ratio of black pixels between 0 and 20%.

The Canon CapturePerfect 3 'Skip Blank Page' feature. This feature has an area which ignores the outside area (approx 10%) of any page. As your image is within that area then it assumes that this is a blank page!!! This is a part of the ISIS/Twain Driver parameters.

The other post is correct when they say that the easiest thinh to do is to mark the orriginal.

We have the same problem where I work. We use a black texta and draw a line down the middle of the page. This gives the scanner a point to pick up apart from the minimal text at the top. However, this will only work if you are happy to have a line on your scanned document!

Missing pages with print only on the bottom of page

This may be because you have selected to have the scanner skip blank pages in the software, and it is thinking that the page is blank. Try deselecting that option and see what happens...

Scanner adding blank pages

Driver is probably set for "Skip Blank Page". Adjust "ratio of Black" slider if it is to reduce falsely detected blank pages.

My printer prints a label and skips 3

Sometimes it's simply because the page settings in an Internet Browser need to be adjusted. Top left click File, then Page Setup.
Here change all 4 margins to 0.1 (it may override you) and all SIX footers and headers to Blank or Empty.

Can i skip blank pages while scanning duplex with a 5080c using capture perfect 3.0?

There is option to skip Blank pages. You have to specify in terms of percentage, above which the scanner will save and discard images below the specified percentage.

5010C scanner won't skip blank pages

We had this problem and discovered it was caused by a small piece on the glass. Once the glass was cleaned, the blank pages were skipped.

I can't scan different document sizes (A3 and A4) in one batch with the Canon 9080C.

IF you are using CapturePerfect 3. version, you can select "Auto detection" for page size, and under 'more' select 'image size' instead of guide plate. Also you may have to select option '1' under user code U10 in case you want to scan pages over 17 inches long. (Press Newfile and Countonly simultaneously, press 'newfile' till you get U10, press 'countonly' and select 1. This will enable scanning upto 1 meter long).
CP3 has "Skip Blank page option", this helps you to automatically delete blank pages on the back side and scan only those with data.

Intermec PC4 is skipping over blank labels when it prints. It prints one label then skips over 3 or 4 labels before it prints the next one

Make sure that the label is not larger than the printable area, carriage returns and spaces count as part of the label too. Also make sure that in the printer properties you didn't set the page width wider or higher than the actual label. Especially using MS Word, you may have to adjust the label slightly smaller to compensate for margin, header, and footer settings. Also be careful of mail merges which merge data larger than the viewable area on the label.
