Hi. Is it the line fuse or the output fuse that blows? Does it blow if it is not connected to the machine.
It is probably best in the long run if you purchase a new charger for your machine. Some older chargers are simple regulation circuits, and most of the newer ones operate on a high frequency switching power supply mode, and have complex circuitry.
If you can get your old charger fixed by an electronics serviceman, it would be a good idea to test it by recording a battery charge with a data logger, to make sure it is charging at the correct voltage levels.
Buying a new charger might mean that you will save destroying a set of batteries as well.
We have here testers for batteries and chargers where the data logger does a voltage test every 10 seconds. We can record a charger for 4 days, and download it to a PC. We have found a few chargers that overcharge. This will eventually destroy the batteries.
Good luck. Neil.
