Hi, the problem could be that you have all the numbers saved on your sim memory as well as on the phone memory, if this is done you will experience what you are experiencing...
also it could be that you have disrupted the setting on the phone..you could check your contact setting, you select NAME AND NUMBER.

SOURCE: nokia 6650 flip phone will not show contact name on incoming call

Make sure you have the incoming number in your address book. If you don't only the incoming number will show up.

SOURCE: don't get the name of a caller display on incoming

The caller is using private number. If you wanna know who's calling you, turn off your phone. If the caller always call you all the time, you'll be lucky. Because there will voice message received from the operator and you are able to know the number who's calling you.

You can do that also by typing "#31#(destination no.)" then call.

SOURCE: No number or contact name on incoming call.

Hi, I had the same problem few days back. I am using Nokia N95 with a Vodafone service. Any call I receive simply showed "Call" and on checking the call log, says "No Number". this problem is not with the phone, but with the network. I checked with the Vodafone customer associate, I got to know I din't submit my documents to them which is required on an yearly basis and so my phone had this problem. So if u r also having same problem as I had, try contacting ur network service associates and they could help you fixing the problem.

I have bought Nokia E63 mobile. I have saved all the contacts from my sim card to my mobile, but while receiving the incoming calls the names are not displayed in the mobile and only the mobile numbers are...

The problem here would be duplicate contacts. When a call comes it searches the number in the Phone and SIM and displays the name pointing to that. Here in your case I suppose the same contact with the same number would be entered twice ( SIM + Phone) and phone gets confused which name to display and it shows just the number instead of name.
To solve this what you can try is to disable the SIM contacts from displaying. To do that go to Menu>Contacts>Options>Settings>Contacts> Contacts to display - Select Phone Memory only.
Hope this helps. Good Luck. ~SmokinJoe~

Why does my Nokia device only show phone number of caller or SMS sender, although they are listed in my contacts? The calling phone number may not match with a contact name and the name is not shown in the following situations when an incoming call or SMS arrives:
  • The contact is defined twice in the Contacts application (e.g. if both Phone memory and SIM memory contacts have been selected to be displayed in Contacts settings and the same contact is found in both of them).
  • The same phone number is defined for two or more contacts.
  • The phone number in Contacts application is in different format than the number received in the incoming call. The phone number may have been stored in local format while the incoming call number is in international format (including country prefix), or vice versa. The number may not be properly matched with a contact name in this situation, depending on the device variant and the length of the calling number. In order to verify the correct format of the contact phone number (local or international), check the number which is shown when the call is received and edit the contact details accordingly.
If the problem persists, make sure your Nokia device is running the latest software. For downloads and assistance, go to your local Nokia website.

Dear Sir, I am using Samsung SJ700 mobile phone. And sometimes I get incoming call with no number displayed on the screen. It just shows incoming call. Can you pls help me in sorting out this...

This happens when two or more similar (saving one number with different names) contacts is saved on your phonebook, i.e. if you've saved my number on the sim card with a name and at the same time you have my number (same number) on your phone's memory, the caller id will not be displayed, you'll only see the "Incoming Call" or "Call". So I would suggest you to please check the phonebook and delete (keep only one per number) if there are multiple similar contacts saved on your phonebook.

You can also reset the phone to Factory default, in case there's no problem with your phonebook/contacts.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

While incoming its displays only calling and the name not displayed for sms its display the name

It is because you have the number twice on your mobile phone. ie the same number in different names delete one of them then it will be ok.

How get do I get my incoming phone numbers to be displayed

Most phones will only do what you require if the contacts are stored on the phones memory instead of the SIM memory. This will also prevent you from assigning photos to contacts and one touch speed dials (i.e. press and hold a number to dial a stored number) Try copying all your contacts to the phones memory. If you see duplicate names, go into phone book settings and adjust setting for phone just to look at phones memory and this will stop duplicates being shown. hope that helps?
