Sir,
i am not able to delete files from my pendrive nor am i able to format. every time i try to delete or format, a window pops up saying that ur pendrive is write protected and asks to remove the write protection. as such i have not found any write protection enabling or disabling method. please guide in this problem
Write Protection error occurs in PenDrives, when the files / file system gets corrupted.
But, I haven't find a way to solve this...
You can try CHKDSK command from dos command prompt... i may detect some corrupted files, but still unable to fix it.
Look for a small/tiny white switch on either the bottom or side of your pendrive and switch to the other side. there should be a tiny white switch on your pendrive...
Hope this help. dnt 4get to rate pls

go onto this website and download the formatting software: http://www.apacer.com/en/products/Handy_Steno_HA202_downloads.htm
I had the same problem with an old 64MB jump drive. I did some hunting around on HWA as well as Googling other forums. The general agreement seemed to be that the drive was simply dead. I tried changing all the permissions, attrib in CMD, and even logging into Linux as "root" (the equivilent of Microsoft's "Administrator") to no avail. I was able to back the files up to another drive, and they regained their permission settings, but from what I read, the drive was simply dead.

Hi...
sir,
i am not able to delete files from my pendrive nor am i able to
format. every time i try to delete or format, a window pops up saying
that ur pendrive is write protected and asks to remove the write
protection. as such there is no switch for any write protection enabling or
disabling method. The drive is infected by a virus but i cannot clean it as it shows drive is write protected. Please help.

Having the same write protect problem on my Lenovo X300 running XP SP2, showing on ALL external drives - hard or flash - and there is no hardware switch! The problem started suddenly only on one Transcend 33GB USB stick, but now is global. Have tried sharing, formatting, formatting through DOS, running Unlocker, nothing works. This is quite a problem
