The XM model number provided is branded DELPHI but is actually made by AUDIOVOX... a manufacturer that is commonly rebranded XM, TERK, RCA, etc. So the Audiovox manual is what you need. Now since Audiovox usually doesnt support directly its hard to get manual from them directly. The link to your manual (the third down on this page and the picture looks a bit diffferent but is the silver receiver not black box ones) Good luck

I just bought the RCA CD/DVD home theater system RTD206. I cant figure out how to change the radio channels. Also cant figure out how to change the cd disk tracks. Does this system have a remote. Or do...

The system does have a remote (at least it should come with one if purchased new), and you need it to control pretty much everything. Here's what the manual says about the radio tuner (you can find the whole manual here) :

Manual Tuning
1. Connect the FM aerial and the AM loop antenna at the back of the unit. Rotate the AM loop for
better reception.
2. Press TUNER to enter TUNER mode and toggle between FM and AM.
3. When the FM station broadcasts Stereo sound, ST is displayed.
4. Tune a station by pressing repeatedly the TUNER+/- buttons until the desired station is found.
Alternatively, you can press and hold the same buttons down for about one second to activate
the automatic search function. In this mode the player will automatically tune frequencies until
it finds a station.
5. Repeat step 4 to tune to another radio station.

Storing radio stations
The player can store up to 30 radio stations in its memory. You can enter every single radio station
yourself or the player can store all available radio stations automatically in ascending order.
Automatic preset programming
1. Press TUNER to enter the Tuner mode.
2. Press and hold TUNER down for 3 seconds to start automatic preset programming.
Note: A weak signal can affect the "Automatic preset programming" function's efficiency. Adjust the aerial for better
reception and a more efficient search.
3. Radio frequencies will be browsed and radio stations stored automaitcally. When all the available
radio stations are stored or all 30 memory locations are full, the auto preset programming
function will stop.

Manual preset
1. Tune to a radio station (see "Manual tuning" for details).
2. Press MEMORY once to enter flashing Preset Loaction number.
3. While the Preset Location number is still flashing, input your desired preset number (1-30) using
the numeric buttons or press the CH+/- buttons, then press MEMORY to store it.

Retrieving preset stations
1. Press TUNER to enter the Tuner mode.
2. Press CH+/- to search up or down for the preset stations or directly press the numeric buttons.

As you see, you really need that remote. The same is true for disc play. While there are front panel buttons for play/stop, disc skip, and drawer open/close, you don't have any other control without the remote. Without the remote control you'll find this system won't do too much, unfortunately. If you bought this new, check the packing material before you throw it away to make sure the remote's not still somewhere in the box. They often come tucked into slots on the foam inserts.

Also, when you hook the unit to a TV, it's just using the TV as a video display device. The TV has nothing to do with any of the system's other functions.

I hope you have luck locating the remote! Thanks for using Fixya.

LG LX-M240 operating instructions: I cannot set the presets

Owner's Manual is PN 3834RH0020U
On pg13
1. Press TUNER/BAND to select AM or FM
(Leftmost rectangular button on left of volume knob)
2. Select station by using TUNING +/-
3. Press PROGRAM/MEMO on the remote
A preset number will appear.
4. Press PRESET +/- (or PRESET ^/v on remote) to
select the preset number you want.
5. Press PROGRAM/MEMO again. The statio is stored.
6. Repeat above for more stations.

Believe you can store up to 30 stations.
Stations on presets 1, 2 and 3 take longer to 'kick in' when listening to the radio
as they are the 'tens' prefix for the preset numbers. 4 - 9 'kick in' immediately.

Hitachi ft 5500 tuner, tuner pre set problem

Hi,
I bought an FT-5500 in 1983 that I haven't used for ten years but I still have the manual which states the following re pre-sets:

1. Tune into the station to be memorised with the tuning key.

2. When the memory write key is depressed the memory write key indicator lights continuously for about 5 seconds after the FCCS operation with FM reception and immediately with AM reception. One of the 10 preset keys is depressed for memorising the station while the indicator is lit. When the key is depressed the indicator goes off, the memorizing operation is completed and the next time you want ot listen to the station it can be recalled by depressing the corresponding preset key.
If the preset key is depressed during this interval and the FCCS data & broadcassting station are memorised the indicator goes off.

There is more but I think this should be enough to get you going.

Cheers
Graham

Help with fm presets

I'm not sure on this particular model, but often if there are seperate buttons for the station presets you just tune to the required station and hold the preset button you want in until you hear a beep - then the station is memorized in that preset.

However in this case the preset up/down and enter/memory buttons are used - the manual is available here:

http://www.sherwoodusa.com/cc_manuals.html

and full instructions for setting presets both automatically and manually are on pages 35/36.
