How does one stop mx300 fax from interupting phone
I found this on Canon's website.
Remote RX
If
the fax interrupts telephone conversations after the initial sixty
seconds that it uses to monitor for fax signals, change the Remote RX
ID number. The default Remote RX ID number is 25. See the folloing
steps to change the Remote RX ID number.
Note: The default setting is [ON].
If the fax continues to interrupt telephone conversations
after the Remote RX ID number was changed, turn off Remote RX. The
default setting from the factory is ON. See the folloing steps to turn
off Remote RX.
1. Press the <Menu> button until [FAX SETTINGS] is displayed.
2. Use the [ ] or [ ] to select [RX SETTINGS] then press <OK>.
3. Use themx300 fax / printer - left.gifsrc="/uploads/images/left.gif" alt="left.gifmx300 fax / printer - right.gifh_mi" />] or [ ] to select [REMOTE RX] thenmx300 fax / printer - left.giflt;OK>.
4. Use the [ ] or [ ] to select [OFF] then press <OK>.
5. Press <Stop/Reset>.

Usually answered in minutes!
Tried EVERY combination of settings, still no change.
does this about 25% of calls.
Printer is set up as described in on-line manual.

Me too. I have the same issue. If someone calls and I answer it and the pritner is on, I can be on the phone the phone for about a minute and then the fax kicks in and drops my call. I have tried the various settings in the manual and have triple checked that the settings & wires are all set up correctly. It doesn't happen to every call though.
Very frustrating!

I have the same problem. It happens on maybe 10% of my calls. The solutions presented basically say "try changing this or that" but that's not too definitive for finding a a solution especially when the problem is relatively infrequent. Anyone really know how to fix this?
