Hi.You must first remove the agitator.there mite be a small sized bolt down the side of the agitator that needs to be released before the agitator will come off upwards. Then there will be a big nut at the top that normally requires a special fitted spanner but with big vice grips you may be able to get it undone.(good luck).hope i helped

I have a maytag cennatinal washer model #mvwc400xw4 trying replace seal and have hard time removing tub is there any nut holding tub on any help would be appreciated

Here are some general steps that may help you remove the tub:
  1. Disconnect power: Turn off the power to the washing machine and disconnect the power cord.
  2. Empty the tub: Remove any clothing or items from the tub.
  3. Locate the retaining clips: The retaining clips are typically located around the perimeter of the tub, near the top of the machine.
  4. Release the clips: Use a flat-head screwdriver or pliers to gently release the retaining clips. Be careful not to damage the clips or the tub.
  5. Check for a retaining nut: If you have difficulty releasing the retaining clips, check to see if there is a retaining nut that needs to be removed. This nut is usually located on the back of the machine, near the bottom of the tub.
  6. Remove the tub: Once you have released the clips and removed any retaining nuts, you should be able to carefully lift the tub out of the machine.

How do i take out bottom draw

Open the drawer.
Top tub : depress the right hand tub clip and push it back about 30mm. Repeat for the left hand side.

Bottom tub: remove the toe kick (refer section 9.4) and lower tub cowling (refer section 9.5), both optional.

1. If the cowling has not been removed, then the tub clips need to be pushed back about 130mm so the slide clears the cowling when the tub is lifted.

2. Lift the tub off the slides and push the runners back into the product.

3. Releasing the wire from the centre clip on the link assembly allows the tub to be moved further from the chassis (optional).

4. If the tub is being turned over for servicing, rotate it counter clockwise, remembering to remove the baskets first. Removing the handle will prevent it from being damaged.

5. Refit in reverse manner.

Just need to know how to take front off of washer its a front load the tub is making a racket like something is in it

Do not remove front of this tub. You can remove the item by removing the inner tub fine to reach between the tubs, much easier. You can also remove items in the pump from a clean out if you remove the lower panel. This is also another way to get between tubs, by removing rubber bladder to pump at the bottom right of tub. Good luck, Mastatech

Fridge washer GLWS1349AS0, have inner tub out, trunion lifted, not off yet due to slight rust. How do I change spin bearing and tub seal? thanks.

Hello,
To remove the trunion totally reattach the inner tub to it and twist the inner tub, with the tub attached it gives you much more leverage to twist and pull the trunion off. After its off pull the small brass ring with the O seal in it up the transmission shaft and pop the tub seal off. To replace tub bearing remove the bolts on the side of the side of the outer tub off from the tub support and pull tub off of trans. shaft. to remove bearing flip tub upside down and remove the 2 screws from the tabs on bearing and turn tub back right side up and use a screwdriver on the top of bearing and knock it out of outer tub, push new bearing in by hand most of the way, being sure the tabs on bearing is lined up w/notches on tub and use old bearing placed on top of new one and drive it down all the way, reinstall screws into tabs. All the surface rust should be sanded off of trans shaft. Re install outer tub and secure with the bolts into tub support. push main tub seal into flange with normal palm pressure, install new brass ring and MAKE SURE O RING DOESNT POP OUT OF IT ( a little dawn, palmolive joy liquid dishwashing soap around inner part of o ring inside of brass ring will help it slip on easily) I use the old brass ring and press it over new brass ring to assist in o ring not popping out, once new brass ring is inserted ok and oring in place remove and discard old brass ring. Reistall trunion and inner tub ECT ECT ECT

How do we remove the tub seal assembly on a mat12cs commercial Maytag?

This is a not a job for the back yard mechanic. There are many things that need to be done carefully. There are 3 letters missing from your model number also... However the procedure is pretty much the same for all models.

NOTE you will need a special tool to remove the stem seal. Unless you have the special tool in hand don't even bother starting the job. Tell any appliance part center you need the tool for removing an Old style Maytag tub nut and stem seal.

1. Remove the front panel
2. Remove the cabinet top / lid by removing the 2 screws in the top front corner of the cabinet. and rotate the top up 90 deg. Be careful of the lid that will swing freely.
3. Disconnect the pump inlet hose from the bottom of the tub.
4. Disconnect the water injector hose from the tub cover.
5. Remove the tub cover
6. Locate the only hex head screw in the side of the agitator and remove it.
7. Lift out the agitator
8. Using the special tool you should have in hand by now.... Remove the wash tub nut and stainless steel washer under the tub nut.
9. NOTE the distance of the inner tub from the outer tub and then lift out the wash tub
10. Next is the stem seal. You first have to remove the allen head lock screw in one of the 4 faces of the tub nut. Then again using that same special tool remove the upper part of stem seal. Be careful when lifting it as you can actually damage the grease seal in the very top of the tub seal upper portion. Once the metal upper part of the tub stem seal assy is removed... there another NOTE of caution...
11. The actual tub seal has a carbon face on the top of it and if you crack the carbon seal it your machine will leak all of the time there is water in the unit.
grab the tub seal as the very base of the seal and gently rotate and lift it off the inner tub sealing surface.
12. Install the new stem seal.... by again gripping it on the bottom only and gently rotate and push it down into place until it seats level.

Reassemble in reverse order of disassembly but make sure you INSTALL the allen lock screw into the stem seal nut face. If you don't the stem seal will come loose and your unit will leak again. Final note is during re-assembly make sure the wash tub is centered.... rotate the tub once you tighten the tub nut and make sure it is not to elliptical if you don't get it right... the machine will gyrate with use in the spin cycle.
