You can format the player in Windows Media Player itself.
Connect your Mp3 player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "name of Mp3 player here 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.

Don't use any software. Drag and drop the individual songs into the player under the correct catagory. But do not put a folder into that folder or it will not update correctlly when you tell it to.
if you are using usb jack, connect onit, click my computer, check if removable device under E or F appears.
select storage device in your player, that if your player has. select songs and transfer to, my music of the player. and make sure this music is mp3 compact.
you cant transfer may be your memory is full.
if no indication is showing on your computer, than check your usb cable.
also check if you are able to down load music from player to computer. if you can than your computer is seen your player.
you need to load the cd music into a computer and into something like Windows media player then click the library button so you can see all the music you put in there, connect the player to a USB port and on Windows media player click on the sync tab, then you can slide all the songs you want to put on the player to the right column and click start sync and they will transfer.
GO TO THE FILE WERE YOUR E-MUSIC IS DOWN LOADED TO AND EACH SONG AND LAUNCH IT FROM THERE MAKE SURE YOUR WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER IS SET AS YOUR DEFAULT PLAYER YOU CAN DO THAT BY RIGHT CLICKING ON EACH SONG AND CHECKING IT AFTER YOU LAUNCH THE SONG FROM THERE IT SHOULD PUT THAT SONG IN YOUR WMP LIBRARY AND ALSO USE WMP TO PLAY THE SONG YOU DONT HAVE TO PLAY THE FULL SONG JUST THE BEGINING OF IT,IF THAT DOES'NT WORK THEN CHECK YOUR WMP SETTING TO MAKE SURE THAT THE SONGS THAT YOU LAUNCH WITH WMP ARE AUTO ADDED TO YOUR LIBRARY
