Speakers the speakers on my Compaq FP 7317 17" LCD monitor dont work and there pluged in this happened after i restored my whole computers system

Try the power cable.Could've been blown.
Switch it with the CPU'S and see what happens.

To disable sleep mode in vista follow the steps

Go to start and type in the search box Power Options hit the enter button
On the Left side there is a panel Click Change when the computer sleeps
Click the drop-down box which says Put the computer to sleep and select Never
Click Save changes

You need to run a cable from the "line-out" (GREEN) socket on your computer's audio-device to the "line-in" socket on the monitor.

check audio pin is inserted properly or not check whether mute mode is selected check that only one player is not working or same check audio drivers are installed properly or not .If all above are ok then speakers are faulty you have to replace it

You ether got a short in there or the plug cable has a short ether way this needs to be looked at a quick fix would be to buy seperate speakers.

Make sure that your soundcard is properly installed as are it's drivers. Check to see that sound is not muted. This can be done via the speaker icon in the system tray or from sound in control panel.

anti virus 2008 is a trojan, turn off system restore (right click my computer>properties>system restore tab; if you have one care then start your pc up in safe mode (F8 on boot up), choose safe mode and then your operating system, then click the administrator account and run the programme, then when dissinfected restart pc, turn system restore back on

Sounds like the sound card in your computer..
