Hi!

It is clear in your statement that your speaker is not working anymore. Consider opening it and then check the wiring inside the speaker if it has lost connection and solder it.

Otherwise buy a new one this will get raid of the problem completely.

Hope it helps..

Have a nice day!

Trying to get my ps3, Emerson hd tv and coby DVD938 home theater all to work together

The DVD938 only has analog audio input (2.1 channel), thats why you have only a white (left channel) and red (right channel) audio connection from your ps3 to the home theatre. There is an option called PROLOGIC in the setup menu that will simulate 5.1 with the 2.1, it basically takes the 2.1 channels and splits it into all the speakers.

My speakers are hooked up to the computer but I'm not getting any sound. It use to work until I got a virus on my computer and when I got my computer back I hooked the speakers back up but no sound.

the virus might have corrupted your drivers
you might have to uninstall then reinstall either the driver or the sound devices
control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select appropriate speakers or audio you will find 3 drop down lists make the necessary adjustments there or control panel, administrive tools, computer management, device manager, sound, could be a yellow question mark? right click to re-install drivers or right click select properties to either troubleshoot, uninstall, rollback driver
hope this helps

No sound coming from speakers and drivers not working anymore...

Make sure you use the power adapter with the speakers. Most audio cards today won't drive the speakers on their own. Either

  1. remove the audio from the Device Manager then search for changes, or
  2. Look at the Properties of the audio device and revert to a previous driver.

I recenttely hooked up my old gateway compute with the boston speakers and cannot get them to work.. is there some software i need to reinstall to get them working?

on your gateway computer, check to see if you have the volume icon in the bottom right hand corner. If you do then raise the volume up.

If you don't see an icon then that means the sound card drivers are not installed and they need to be to get sound going thru the speakers.

www.gateway.com and go to there support section to get the sound card drivers. I would go there and download the sound card drivers for your computer and then just to make sure you have the speakers hooked up properly go read the manual for the speakers located here:

http://www.bostonacoustics.com/Assets/pdf/manuals/735setup.pdf

Make sure you have adobe reader installed to read the manual.

If you install the sound card drivers and the speakers are hooked up right and your still not getting sound, then that means either the sound card is bad or the onboard sound chip on the motherboard is bad.

No sound from X-540 speakers

are you getting power out of the speakers? tried them elsewhere? maybe the port burned out on the board and an audio card maybe needed. try an audio card and see if that works and return to best buy (if you have one near you) if thats not the problem. you can try to reset your motherboard to default values? if the computer shows your drivers working properly then maybe its the speakers. ive seen tht happen to good speakers. its a bummer deal!

Install cd for monsoon

What makes you think you need special drivers for your Monsoon speakers? Do other speakers work properly when hooked up to your PC? Borrow a pair from somebody else if you don't have any other speakers you can try, and check. If they don't work either, Monsoon drivers are not your problem. I'm not saying nobody ever needs drivers for speakers to work with a computer, but normally, drivers for the speakers are not the issue if you're not getting sound through them.

The sound card driver and sound settings in BIOS, sound settings in Windows and for the sound card, and physical issues about the way the speakers are hooked up or whether the speakers themselves are functional are much more common sources of trouble than drivers for the speakers.

Start your troubleshooting process with this webpage:
http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000034.htm

If that one doesn't seem to address your issue, try websearching for other options with a phrase such as: troubleshoot no sound PC speakers.

I have a x-540 speaker system I brought today. Do I need a sound card to make it work with my pc. I hook it up/no sound.

A stereo computer system with resources to produce and record surround sound channels. Such surround sound channels are played or recorded using an audio card added to the computer system, which audio card controls additional speakers and/or microphones. Software for redirecting instructions from existing stereo application programs and sending these instructions to the existing audio device driver and the additional audio device driver is needed. Resources for processing the digital audio data for either extracting surround sound channels from two channel data provided by the application, or for encoding two sets of two channel audio data recorded by the two audio cards is also needed
