SOURCE: i have a orion hcca-d1200 and it keeps shutting

Possibly a shorted output transistor. If it was the power supply you would be blowing fuses, which I assume you aren't.

IS ORION HCCAD5000 AMP ENOUGH FOR 2 ORION HCCA10.2!

No. These subs are rated at 1500 RMS each. So you need an amp that will produce at least 3000 watts RMS at 2 ohm load or if you wire each sub to a separate amp down to 1 ohm...then you will need an amp that will produce at least 1500 RMS. Those subs can handle more than they are rated though.

I have the MRP-M1000 amp. I want to hook up 2 alpine subs to this amp. Which alpine subs would be the best for this amp? Please be specific with ohms and watts.

Your best bet will be to wire 2 subs in parallel to the amp. Each sub should be rated for at least 300 watts rms at 4 ohms. This will give you a total impedance of 2 ohms, and your amp will put out 600 watts rms at that impedance. That way, each sub will receive 300 wats rms. I would not recommend wiring subs in parallel, as you will need two 1 ohm subs at 300 watts rms, which are harder to find and will be more expensive. A parallel circuit is the most efficient way to do it.

I have 2 sony xplod 4ohm subs rated 350w rms and 1200w max, i have them in really shallow boxes because i drive a single cab toyota, i know these subs **** but i do also know that they can hit alot harder...

the premier amp is better since it has a better rms rating (360w total or 160w each sub) than the eclipse (280w if you bridge all 4 channels which isn't possible but 140w for each speaker bridging 2 channels per speaker). Neither are going to push your subs but if you get another amp wiring kit and use one amp per sub they will sound a lot better and you could just hook both power wire and ground wires from the bridged channels to the power and ground terminals for the sub. That would be my suggestion since the subs are rated at 350w and each amp is 280w and 320w which will push but not blow the subs.

For da orion 2500d, what would be the difference between 10'', 12'', & 15'' orion hcaa subs besides a matter of price and inches? I have two of the orion 2500d amps and am ready for the subs. I would...

I honestly would go with 2 12 inch dual 2 ohm subs and wire them one per amp. That will give you a 1 ohm load to each amp and will give the HCCA's 2500 rms per sub... It will be stupid loud... 10s hit tighter than 12's usually and 12's tighter than 15's but u will get more air movement out of a 15 than the 12's and 10s... but... 2 10's require say a 4 cubic foot box to perform well... 2 12's require a 5 cubic foot box to perform well and 2 15's require about 7 to 10 cubic foot to perform to their fullest... no matter what if you put a sub in a box that's too small it will not perform or sound like what you want it to... go 2 12's and like a 5.50 cubic foot box or a 6 cubic foot box and you will love it...

I have 2 jl-w6 subs n a orion hcca 250 amp how do i run wirering

Hello brianmitchel,

From what I am able to determine, the Orion HCCA250 is a bridgeable 2-channel amp that is stable to 1ohm when bridged and outputs 800 watts RMS into that load.

The JL W6's in both 10" and 12" versions are dual voice coil with 4ohm coils so they can be wired to present either an 8ohm load (series) or a 2ohm load (parallel). They can handle 600 watts RMS.

With this combination, the best configuration would be to wire the sub voice coils in parallel for a 2ohm load and then parallel both subs to the amp bridged terminals for a final impedance of 1ohm. The subs will each be getting 400 watts.

In any event, I would not recommend running subs in series. There is some evidence for distortion being caused by something termed "back EMF".

Hope this helps.

Wiring diagram

Hello rivertoyz,

If your F250 has the stock radio, there are no preamp outputs, so you will need to use the speaker outputs. The best solution would be to wire a LOC (line output converter) to the rear channels and run RCA cables to the amp.

Speaker wire color code:

Left rear positive - Gray/Light Blue
Left rear negative - Tan/Yellow
Right rear positive - Orange/Red
Right rear negative - Brown/Pink

You'll need an amp wiring kit with 4gauge power and ground. Both the LOC and wiring kits are available at numerous online stores. The best service is from www.crutchfield.com. Another reputable online seller is www.sonicelectronix.com.

You did not say what subwoofer(s) you intend to use with the amp. If you want to stick with the Maxxsonics product, a pair of 10" Orion HP10D2's would be an excellent match. Wire each of the subs dual voice coils in series for 4ohms, then parallel them to the amp for a final load of 2ohms. Both of the linked retailers above sell the Orion's and many other brands as well. Just make sure that your sub selection has adequate power handling capability. At least 1000 watts RMS if you use a single sub and 500 watts RMS if you go with 2.

Hope this helps.
