Your Denon is a class audio device while NO TV ever is, nor do they have speakers that compare to your Denon's speakers, I assume.

Get the best TV-related audio straight from its source into the Denon and run the standard stereo audio to the TV for those times you don't mind hearing what you see on the TV's speakers.

SOURCE: no sound from new sony bravia to denon avr 1610

TV's are not your best source of audio. Get the TV-related audio digitally from the source, NOT the TV.

Make sure you didn't get the video line out confused with one of the audio lines.

No dish network sound through denon 1609 receiver

check the setting for the HDMI connection at the Denon you may have to assign the HDMI audio setting also on the front of the Denon while in the DVR mode press the input mode button on the front of the Denon to select auto and if that doesn;t give you sound you will have to connect a cable from the DVR optical.coaxial or analog audio output to the Denon and setup for that type of audio connection

No audio thru receiver with xbox360

Get some audio cables from radio shack or gamestop and use the regular audio jacks on the xbox to connect to your receiver.  Your video will be HD, but your audio won't.
