As for me ,the Wilson 1000 or Wilson 2000 are the best mobile antenna for a mobile. I have out talked a lot of base antennas with them, just put it on the top of car in the center or trunk, or middle of cab of truck, with a good SWR and you are talking and receiving. great antenna. ...hope this helps..

I have a Galaxy DX33 HML. I want get as much output power and receive as possible with being pushed to the limits. What mods would you do without over doing it?

Your radio will only do 11 watts out of the box. The antenna has alot to do with your range along with a few other factors. I normally suggest using a Wilson trucker 1000 antenna on tractor rigs. and a larson Antenna on regular cars and trucks. There is one other thing you can do to increase your power. Purchase an RFX75 on Ebay and have a local cb shop install it for you. this will increase your power to about 80 - 100 watts PEP.

I also have another cobra 29 ltd classic and it works fine but i cant talk or hear what other factory cb's can hear, it is supposed to be tuned and peaked and i have a wilson 2,000 antenna, and i cant talk...

nearly all problems are caused by poorly tuned or untuned antennas. a good antenna system with a cheap stock radio will out perform a great tuned radio with a bad antenna system any day of the week. if you dont believe me, check the firestik antenna website's tech notes. or wilson's tech notes.

You have an antenna problem. Get a good antenna, such as a Wilson 1000 & use the SWR function in the radio to tune it. Wilson antenna come with tuning instructions.
