I just installed a new Rheem electric 50 gallon hot water heater. I am getting power (220) to the unit. The heating elements are getting power. I have waited over 2 hours with the thermostats set at 120. No hot water. I then changed the thermostats to about 140. Now 3 hrs and no change in temp. The old water heater had a secondary ground to the frame of mobile home. I did the same.
Check the elements, if you have access to a meter to check them. If they are getting power to elements and you have no hot water.
The elements are not working correctly. I had some elements check out ok till the thermostat's turned on and the elements didn't heat.
Sounds like the elements are bad.

Hi ,, can you tell me how you wired the heater? how you tested for the voltage? where you tested the 220volts? and where on the elements you tested for the voltage .. Thanks ..
I wired using 10/2. From the 30 amp breaker I ran the wires to each of the wires in the junction box, one red the other black. The ground to the green screw. The old water heater had a secondary ground hooked to the frame of my mobile home. I replaced this with new. The manuel said I should run a secondary ground if I wasn't using conduit. I tested the voltage from the green ground screw to each of the load wires. 110 on each. I tested each wire individually on the elements with the green screw as a ground
I wish you had said that you tested your power between the two hots and confirmed that you have 220 volts. Yes I see you have two 110 tests .. but please test between the hots and confirm the 220volts. Your secondary ground is OK .. not usually necessary but a good safety , specially in a trailer. Do you have no hot water , or a limited hot water??
