It may have blown fuse, it should be located close to where the AC power goes into the monitor, look for part with Fxxx labelling.

Hp w2408h monitor flashing red green black blue white

These blinks (flashes) are fault indication. By the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit stage inside the TV. Count the blinks occur at one time switch ON, carefully. Do it once again, and make sure about the number of blinks. If the flashes are continious, non-stop, the main system control IC should be suspected. If you wish to get more details, check the site linked here. It has blinking codes detail to many brand TVs. Pull up older posts. Check the site in 'Mosaic' view. It will make search easy. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

While window first starts (loads) their are 2 perfreated lines that go all the way across the screen on the monitor. Once the user choice screen opens they disapear never to happen again till i start up...

may help to reset the monitor to optimal settings, use the auto adjust feature. also, test if the same thing happens in case another monitor is connected to the computer. If it does, the cause is related to the computer. Updating the video card/controller driver and for integrated video controller, updating the computer BIOS can help.

Remove cover from HP w2408h monitor

pop the roundish 'HP' cover of the back of the stand. Remove the 4 black screws and the stand comes away. The case is just a clamshell affair, the main piece is the rear cover, the LCD front plastic border locks into it. The screen with components mounted is sitting loose in the back cover once the front border is removed. The trick is to pry off the front border without damage. Hook the fingers under the border where it lays against the LCD screen, wiggle, pull, curse and do it again. The top and bottom borders come loose easier than the end borders. Once these are popped free, stand the unit on end between your knees and pry away the end borders. A wide putty knife slipped between the border and metal frame will save your fingers but don't damage the screen. When the front border is off, lay the unit face-up on a table, undo the screws for the control panel and power switch modules, flip it over and lift off the back panel. Everything is under a metal casing.. I had no voltage from the power supply, trying to find a Fairchild chip SG6902SZ on the small control module, P/N ILTR-003, else the Pwr Bd, P/N ILP-004..
