Stereo shut down

Did you check fuse block in the car as well as the stereo fuses?

When the face plate is down does that model have any indicator lights in the rest of the deck to see if it is getting power? My old ken wood used to have a red light that blinked behind the faceplate.

Jvc car stereo KD-R570 flashing red

To test radio to see if its working you can bench test it. This means to combine red and yellow and run to 12V positive and Black to 12V negative. IF radio turns on, it would mean its working.

no, this radio has no security code... Check to see that you have power on the yelow wire at all times, Power on the red wire when the key is on, and make sure the black wire is grounded well. something could have been disconnected at the paint shop.

Daewoo Cd player

The car security is not connected to a head unit. It probably has a small blinking red light on it which blinks when you remove the faceplate and switch the ignition off. This is just an indicator which lets people see that the face plate is removed.

You can replace the headunit with any brand/model you want. It would be cheaper than buying a replacement faceplate.

Not turning on

That Red light is saying that the front panel is not attached. This is the "Security Indicator" and is to warn crooks when you have removed the face plate. If this is on, and the plate is attached, I would remove and replace the front detachable plate once to ensure a good connection. That's a simple thing to try and only requires a quick operation.

Hope that helps. (If not, more info is needed for me to be of any help.)
