Hello. When I bought my PowerPC G5 Mac OS X 10.4.11, I got the software for Appleworks 5 (I thought) with it. Then I upgraded to Appleworks 6. Lately I had to delete everything and reinstall everything. Since then I have not been able to get my Appleworks 6 back. 5 opens in Classic, but won't open any of the files upgraded to 6.cwk. What to do? what to do?

Pages and Numbers will open those files as long as you were running the last version of AppleWorks. 6.2.9

SOURCE: iPhoto doesn't recognize Sony MVC CD300

Even though Sony Mavica digital cameras are listed as compatible with iPhoto, the camera has to be set to Picture-Transfer-Protocol (PTP) before you can download. In addition, you will need to open Image Capture in the Applications folder. As soon as these steps are taken, the camera is recognized by iPhoto and all photos downloaded into Image Capture.

SOURCE: Asant? Talk compatibility with Mac OS 10.5.5

This is for system 10.5.x:
1. Delete that printer from your list of printers in System Preferences.
2. Make sure your computer, printer, and Asante box are all hooked up together and turned on.
3. Click + under the list of printers in System Preferences.
4. Click AppleTalk icon in top row of dialogue box that appears.
5. After a moment, click Bluetooth icon instead.
6. After a moment, unplug the power cord from your Asante box (but not from the electrical outlet).
7. After a moment, re-plug the power cord into your Asante box and, as soon as possible after the "TX" light comes on, click the AppleTalk icon again.
8. Within a few moments, your printer's name should appear. Highlight its name, then make sure all the information about it that appears is correct, then click "Add."
9. Everything should communicate beautifully. I had no further problems.

SOURCE: need upgraded photo loader for mac os x

Try using Image Capture. It's in the Applications folder and can read most digital cameras. If that doesn't work get a card reader and download the images that way.
If you have it, iPhoto should work with it as well and will help you to keep your photos organized and make adjustments.

Did you repair permissions in disk utility? sometimes you have to use the instal disk disk utility. When doing updates do not touch it as it can cause corruptions. If you do a reinstall the apple support has a combo upgrade to download

And I/O error occurred when trying to open an Appleworks doc

That message in Pages means the file is not an AppleWorks 6 file, possibly AppleWorks 5. Are you using the same version? Not all are backward compatible, or require you to have the compatibility pack installed.
