I bought a 4 GB Scan Disk card for my Kodak digital camera to replace the 560 MB card that it currently has. When inserted, the camera tells me it needs formating. I press OK and then it gives me the message that everything on the card will be lost. I press OK and 2 seconds later it starts all over again saying the card needs to be formated. I never seems to actually format the card it just repeats over and over. What's wrong?

Hi. These little cards have a sliding lock on the outside edge. Remove the card, find the lock and unlock your card. Then format it. J.

What size memory card does the kodak easyshare cx6200 take?

The internal memory for this camera is 8 MB.

The manual indicates using memory cards of size 8 to 128 MB, so this is an early SD memory camera, following the original SD standard. Do not try SDHC or SDXC cards. The camera will support a 1 GB card. It *might* support a 2 or 4 GB card, but since this is a 2 Mpixel camera, a 512 MB or 1 GB card will allow you to save thousands of jpeg format pictures.

I just inserted a new 8GB memory card but it tells me ''OUT OF MEMORY'' I tried to format it but still gives me the same message. Why is that and what can I do about it please?

The memory card you are trying to use in the camera is not supported. This camera is an older technology that can not recognize the large 8 GB memory capacity of the card. In fact, the largest approved card your camera will recognize is 1 GB.

The list of approved memory cards was obtained from the Nikon Site directly, and pasted below for your convenience.

Nikon has tested the following cards and approved their use in the Coolpix 5700:

CompactFlash memory cards:
SanDisk SDCFB series 16 MB, 32 MB, 48 MB, 64 MB, 96 MB, and 128 MB
Lexar Media 4× USB series 8 MB, 16 MB, 32 MB, 48 MB, 64 MB, and 80 MB
Lexar Media 8× USB series 8 MB, 16 MB, 32 MB, 48 MB, 64 MB, and 80 MB
Lexar Media 10× USB series 128 MB and 160 MB
Lexar Media 40x USB WA series 256 MB*
Microtech International Digital Flash Film 1GB*
Delkin eFilm 650MB Pro*
Ritz Big Print 8x 256MB* (Edge Code 0E1B)

Microdrive cards:
DSCM-10512 512 MB
DSCM-11000 1 GB

I bought a 4 GB Kodak card for my Kodak digital camera to replace the 560 MB card that it currently has. When inserted, the camera tells me it needs formating. I press OK and then it gives me the message...

The Z7590 works with SD cards. Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC card. While it fits in the slot it is electronically incompatible and will not work. You need to stay with SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

We insert a memory chip into our Kodak EasyShare C190 camera. The read-out informs us that the memory card requires formatting. We click on "OK." The camera goes into a "formatting" mode, then informs us...

Your camera is only supporting SD/MMC Cards (up to 2 GB) and KODAK SDHC Cards (up to 8 GB).
The card that you currently have might be faulty. Please try another card.
You might also need to switch the camera over to saving pictures directly onto the SD card.1: Menu, Cam settings, Chose AUTO or SD card option Press OK
Note: If the SD card isn't in the camera or is unreadable the camera will automatically go back to saving you taken pictures on the internal memory.

4 GB doesnt work

I believe this camera only supports SD/MMC cards, not SDHC cards. Go to the kodak site to see the detailed specs. Not all devices support SDHC - most new ones do - but some only support the older SD cards.
