Dvd does not play

If the drive spins but can't read the DVD, the laser lens is probably dirty. Just run a CD lens cleaner disk, that should resolve the problem.

If the drive doesn't spin up, then the drive has had it or its got a bad connection.

You have to dismantle (Remove power and battery first) disconnect then re-connect the drive.

If it still fails to spin, your drive has probably hit the dust.
