If you are using Norton Antivirus, you should update its data-base and virus definition every day, so that when you scan your computer, it can detect all possible threats. Some new features like SONAR, it examines the behaviour of applications to decide whether they are malicious. Various things are checked such as if the program create a desktop shortcut or create add/remove programs entry before determining the program is malicious.

After downloading Norton 360 double click on the installation file and follow on screen instruction to install the file. Click on skip if it ask for product key. After installing Norton 360 open Norton 360 and click on live Update to download latest virus definition on to your computer. This will helps norton to find and heal the up to date virus.
After running live update perform complete system scan using Norton.

Uninstall existing Antivirus on your computer before installing Norton 360.
Your system performance will be little low for about 7 to 10 days after installing Norton, after this period it will become Normal.

If you don't have another computer you can download the files to try booting into safe mode with networking. This option should allow you to download and install the programs above,
If your able to download them run anti-malware first. Let t fix what it can. Then install avast anti-virus, when asked if you want to schedule a boot time scan say yes, then when asked to reboot say no and open avast and update it, When prompted to reboot do so.
Boot in safe mode and try to run virus software.
If you can remove hard drive? find another hard drive that has a system with virus software, and make your drive the secondary drive and run virus software.
Usually your virus cd boots or lets you make a boot floppy, when booted run virus software.

after installing norton u r system may be slow.. but it depends on u r system configaration.
if u r system already contains virus before installing norton .
then what you have to do is right click on my computer icon and start scaning with norton . then i maximum try to clean the virus .
if it does not did so then i will tell u another solution..
Open your norton 360 and then updates by clicking upates menu. it will directly updates your norton to the symantec websites or you cam manually updates downloading the update here : dhttp://www.symantec.com/avcenter/download/pages/US-N95.html After updating restart your system to automatically fixed some errors. If the system still same error just click the balloon on the taskbar and select "i have my antivirus (not probably same word)" something like that. if Finally same error encountered uninstall the norton 360 and again reinstall after rebooting and updates. don't worry about the alert, you know already that you are protected.
Norton 360 has the entire norton protection suite built into it. On top of the firewall, phishing protection, and e-mail protection it also has norton antivirus built right into it.
So yes, you have to uninstall antivirus to install 360, but 360 just installs antivirus again.
If you ever decide to go back to using just antivirus you can simply redownload it off their web site.
