My compartment doesn't open and does not disolve the detergent
Probably for the past week my compartment where I put my Electrasol tablets in doesn't open. I end up with all the detergent left in the tab. It doesn't disolve at all. Whats the problem?

Hi, dishwasher detergent stays in the compartment because Bosch has designed a gap at the top of the compartment that feeds water onto the detergent before the cover opens. This has possibly been done to soften up deteregent tablets and help them dissolve.
The result is a solidified mass of wet detergent that doesn't come out of the compartment when it opens, and slowly dissolves onto the dishes leaving them coated with alkaline detergent at the end of the cycle. The residual lump of detergent is in the compartment or on the bottom of the dishwasher (refer photo).
The solution is to remove the compartment cover and look for the small gap at the top of the compartment as in the photos. Clean the surface and fill the gap with epoxy glue. This will keep the detergent dry until the cover opens, allowing the detergent to fall freely out of the compartment.
Sounds like the dishwasher is not getting enough water during it's fill cycle due to low water pressure on supply line or the dishwasher pump is not working correctly. Could be obstructed with food matter, etc.Hope this helps
Please run the machine without detergent for 2-3 washes. Also try using a little hot water. Also, don't used cleaner and softener together but add softener on the last rinse.
Most dishwashers work best when the food is rinsed off the dishes before they are put in the dishwasher. Also, run the hot water into the sink until it is hot and then turn on the dishwasher. good luck.
Try placing a packet in the bottom of the DW and then start a wash cycle ( use the energy efficient cycle that does not use the heater to dry the dishes..).. if it is not disolved at the end of the cycle then your water temp may not be hot enough..Hope that helps..
Check both arms are spinning freely when you have the machine loaded up normally.
If thats ok you could try powder instead of tabs if they are not disolving correctly
The detergent cup can become clogged with old dried detergent that prevents it from opening at time. Sometimes just cleaning the cup takes care of the problem.
The detergent cup opened by a bi-metal switch or a wax motor located inside your dishwasher door(behind the detergent cup).
If cup's cleaning will not solve the problem, you should replace the bi-metal switch or the wax motor (depend which of them is used in your machine).
Another option is just to place the detergent tablet on washer's bottom before starting its cycle.
Good luck !
