Most likely it has to do with your chipset. You might also be trying to run the RAM in dual-channel mode. Some systems are extremely finicky in dual-channel. Next time you boot, try looking in the BIOS to check if dual-channel is enabled or not. If it is, try disabling it and putting the chips back in. You can also go to your motherboard manufacturer's website and check for BIOS updates, as they tend to help with things like this.

all the DIM's must be of same type and same size to work, otherwise it creates problem, like no boot, boot with lowest memory etc.
There is no problem in your PC, its technical issue you can not use two ore more different type RAM at the same time in a motherborad.
