Sony Blu Ray DVD won't open, but disc inside is playing

My dvd player won't open. There's a disc inside and it plays, but when I press Stop and then Open button, the screen would read Open, but a few seconds later, it would read Load, and the disc inside would load again and it would take me to the main menu. I've tried to open it multiple times, btu with this same result. How can I open the dvd player?

SOURCE: I just put the new Avatar Blu-ray DVD in my LG blu

I have an LG BD390.
You probably don't have to update, despite that nag screen. My player is up to date and I see it, too.
If you want to update you'll need an internet connection. Assuming your player is connected with an ethernet cable or through wireless, go to the Home screen (that's what it's called on mine).
You should have a Settings icon or something to that effect. Your menu may be different but you should have options that are nearly identical. I can only write down what I see on my model:
Settings-->Network-->Update
From there you can check for updates and download them if you wish. On mine you cannot check for updates if there is a disk in the player.
Hope this helps.

Hi have just bought a panasonic blu ray player model dmp-bd77 here in australia we have put in a b/ray dvd from the usa that plays perfectly but when we have put in another american dvd(not blu ray a...

Every blu ray or dvd player sold in the world comes as standard unlocked to play any disc from any region. On the fifth play of a disc the DVD or Bluray will become locked to that region. So if you play 5 USA dvd's on the player after the fifth disc has been played only US dvd's will be recognised by the player, Same applies to BLUrays. So if i were you i would be careful about what discs you are putting in the player. Otherwise you will be left with a bluray player that cannot be used in Australia. After that happens the only way to play other region discs would be to get the player unlocked. Another point to add , a blueray player has two lasers one to play bluray and another to play DVD's. Lasers can fail so you could be able to play DVD's but not Bluray or vice versa depending on which laser has failed.

It's something about the Burlesque dvd. I have the same problem with mine when I try and play it on my Sony blue-ray player. It's the only disc I have that it won't play. Disc is a DVD Video disc but it will no't play in the Sony player. It plays fine on other dvd players and my computer, but not on the Sony.

My sony dvd player will not allow the tray to eject. when the eject button is presses "tray locked" appears on the screen

Follow this procedure to lock and unlock the disc tray.
IMPORTANT: This procedure will only work while a disc is inserted in the player and when the disc is playing.
While a disc is playing in the Blu-ray Disc player, press the SYSTEM MENU button on the remote control.
After the System Menu screen appears, slowly press 0 0 0 0 7 6 6 9 using the number pad on the remote control. NOTES:
If the procedure has been performed correctly, the disc will stop playing and the player will go in the Resume mode. Each time this procedure is performed the disc tray will either lock or unlock.

URGENT! DVD not ejecting or playing.

It seems you will need to open the damn thing, or search for a tech, verify your warranty, dont void it.
First you can try to move a little bit the dvd, unplug and plug, change disc, ieverything that can move a part inside the dvd must be pressed, surely is stucked between the play and the open stage.

My sony bdp-s300 discs sticking

try cleaning the lens as you would with you previously owen DVD player. Also make sure the disks are clean. If that doesn't work, try resetting the machine by pressing and holding BOTH the stop and power buttons for about 10-15 seconds.
