Very difficult to diagnose such problems purely because they are intermittent. It could be a sensor, but more likely a bad contact or broken wire in the wiring harness. It does appear to be a known issue.
This does point towards a blockage of some kind and I would ask you to check the inlet on the cyclone itself as well as the bin. Please also brush down and tap out the cyclone shroud. Make sure to do this outside over a bin as it will produce very fine dust.

this is caused by a bad connection, or a faulty back light. It is also something you should have a local repair man have do for you if you are not "tech savvy".
I hope this doesn't seem like a dumb question, but are you driving a different route and do you lose your signal when going under bridges, heavy tree cover etc.?
could be a loose or weak wire connected in the rear. Did you have this professionally installed? I would check the wires before trashing. There are fuses in those units, maybe able to have fixed by a shop. Good Luck
I had the same problem. It was the pin inside the **** clamp that was broken. As I wiggled the plug in the unit the pin would dislodge. eventually the pin got lodged in the 12v power cord.
