Signal keeps dropping out and coming back in.

The signal keeps dropping out and coming back in. It spends more time trying to acquire a signal than keeping the signal. I cleaned under the antenae to see if it may have been a grounding problem. That didn't seem to work. I tried other frequencies listed for my area. The original one seems to work best. This problem has seemed to get progressively worse over the last couple of months. Now I only get a signal for a very short time, and it takes longer at startup to get it.

Try moving your Sirius radio antenna to a window that faces west. Signal goes through windows better than walls.

My RCA modem keeps resetting connection. When I reset it or turn it off to reconnect to the internet. It starts up the usual connection process and after a while doesnt connect and restarts the connection....

All cables may be secured but the internet signal is not enough to keep the modem latched. When it drops too low, the modem lets go and tries to acquire it again. You need to check all the connections and you may have a screen on the modem setup that shows you the signal strength. Keep in mind that any connection your signal travels through causes a loss of signal and the SPLITTER connections are big loss of signal devices. If you lose 3dB it is half the signal

Sirius Stiletto 2 constantly "acquiring signal"

This is an odd fix, but I read it yesterday after having the "Acquiring Signal" issue for a week. I put it in the freezer for 30 minutes, brought it back to my desk and now it works. I don't know why or how, but I am happy.

My nuvi 350 won't acquire satellites

It took about 45minutes of holding on Garmin's tech support line but when I finally got through here's what they'll ask you.

1) Have you tried a hard reset?
-Just push the reset button on the back below the GPS antena
2) Have you updated the software to the most current version?
-Run the Garmin web update utility after you've connected your GPS receiver to your PC via USB. Update the software (current version 5.6) and the GPS Chipset Software (current version 3.0)
3) Have you tried a master reset?
-WARNING THIS COULD ERASE YOUR ENTIRE FAVORITES SECTION. But you turn off the GPS push on the top right hand corner of the screen while you power up the unit and it will ask you if you want to perform a master reset.
After you've done all this (and you can save yourself some time by just doing it before you call) they'll tell you its probabbly a diode in the unit that controls the antena. See that little gold looking hole in the GPS antena? That's where you can connect the external antena the diode the controls where the unit gets its satellite signals from (IE from internal or external antena) is known to mess up if the unit is left in extreme heat (a hot car would do it) however aparently since this is such a common problem Garmin is accepting RMA's for the units even if their several weeks out of warentee (mine was and i just sent it off for this very same reason). More often than not they'll simply replace the unit with a refab and you'll be back in bussiness in no time. Hope this helps!
