I have had the Sansa e280 for a few months. I had downloaded some songs to it. I briefly saw a message that said something about running out of disk space and then the player 'went dead'. All I see is the light around the round control (circle blue light). I had to hold the on/off button for a long time to turn it off. I turned it back on but with no change. All I see is the blue light around the round control....

Is there a way of resetting, or deleting the drive???

My sansa was working but the battery was low so I plugged it into my computer to charge. I noticed it was off (after a few hours) so I unplugged from the USB cable to check the battary charge and it would not come on. I even held down the power button for 15-20 seconds but it still would not come on.

I have the same problem too. However I found it works on my other computers with same OS (WindowsXP). Then I found out that the working ones having new windows media player installed. So I just upgrade my media player from 9 to 11. Since then it works on all of my machines (I have 5 PCs at home).

    Hope this help.

My Sansa e280 just stopped responding. The screen was a light blue color and appeared "on". I wouldn't respond using the power button or any other button. My computer would not recognize it when I plugged it into the usb port. I tried holding the power button for about 15 seconds and it finally responded. It seems to work fine now.

I would suggest holding the 'power' button down for a good 15-20 seconds.

Sansa e280 fatal failure - black screen, unrecognized by comp, won't restart..

1. turn sansa clip on
2. slide to "hold"
3. press and hold center button do NOT let go...
4. plug in the connector cable
5. wait until computer recognises Sansa device
6. let go of center button
7. drag n drop files and you are all set

if that doesnt work you will need to go to the sandisk website to update the firmware on your device..
