This happens when using hdmi for me, free to air digital tv is fine, but playing games has the exact same problems as you describe, and even dvd's etc do it, but not very noticeable at all, needs to be slow paced with a high contrast in in the picture usually.

I have owned an emerson tv for two years now. All of a sudden the picture has become very blurry and white. It is not the cable connection and a DVD is also white and blurry. Even the input channels are...

you must open the back cover of tv, and then things you should do is set "SCREEN" adjustment on the flyback transformer. you must turn it counterclockwise to reduce and decrease the level of screen brightness. turn screen adjustment gradually until the horizontal blanking lines disappear from the screen. and blurred images will be sharp again

Green lines down length of screen on my samsung 40 inch LE40F8

The reason for the green lines are the resolution. I'm assuming you're TV is set at 1080i, not 720p or 1080p correct? What happens is the "i" stands for interlaced, meaning, your TV displays your images with scan-lines. The "p" stands for progressive, meaning, TV displays picture as a whole. You can not visibly see the scan lines when seeing 1080i, but certain TV programs are not outputting their show to the resolution you're at, which will cause you to have the green line up at the top of your TV. SOME TVs might let you adjust the settings to rid yourself of the scanline, but most consumer TVs will not let you without the maintenance code to protect your unit from over calibrating and braking your television. Hope this helps.

I get a thin line of distortion on my sony xbr 42in

Your format is wrong. Make sure that your tv is in full mode and your direct tv is in 1080i stretch mode. This should correct the problem. Also, WB is having problems. This is common on their channel. If it is happening on any other channel, try the above. Hope this helps. JOHN

VCR/DVD combo connecting to HD TV

if the DVD player or HD tv doesnt upconvert to 1080i, then you are stuck with the native resolution.

Interlaced comes in fuzzy & with lines

you need to check if the dvd or games are doing the same thing on different inputs. if they have the same problems you might be looking at the single board or the focus block.

I need the correct Settings for Samsung LNT4665FX to view the best picture

these sets are designed for a digital input source, so if you are on an antenna or analog cable it will not look as clear..also if you can set the source for 720p instead of 1080i..it sounds like a lower resolution but 1080i scans 540 lines 2 times to get 1080i and 720p scans 720 line each time,,
