The throttle does not engage on a troy bilt 3100 2.5 GPM model 020678

If the throttle does not engage on a gas-powered pressure washer when the trigger is pulled, leading to no pressure, there are a few possible reasons for this issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow:
1. Check the throttle linkage: Inspect the throttle linkage to ensure it is properly connected and not obstructed. Verify that the linkage moves freely and is connected to the engine's throttle mechanism. If the linkage is loose or disconnected, reattach it securely.
2. Verify the choke position: Check the position of the choke on the engine. If the engine is cold, the choke should be in the closed or partially closed position. If the engine is warm, the choke should be fully open. Adjust the choke position accordingly.
3. Clean or replace the carburetor: A dirty or clogged carburetor can prevent proper fuel flow and throttle engagement. Remove and clean the carburetor, making sure all jets and passages are clear. If cleaning doesn't resolve the issue, consider replacing the carburetor.
4. Check the fuel supply: Ensure that the pressure washer has an adequate supply of clean fuel. If the fuel is old or contaminated, drain it and refill the tank with fresh gasoline.
5. Inspect the spark plug: Remove the spark plug and check its condition. A fouled or worn-out spark plug can impact engine performance. Clean or replace the spark plug as needed.
6. Check the air filter: A dirty or clogged air filter can restrict airflow to the engine, affecting its operation. Clean or replace the air filter if it appears dirty or damaged.
7. Consult the owner's manual: Refer to the pressure washer's owner's manual for specific troubleshooting steps and maintenance procedures recommended by the manufacturer.
If the problem persists after trying these steps, it may be best to contact a professional technician or the manufacturer's customer support for further assistance. They can provide specialized advice and guidance based on your specific pressure washer model.

My cub cadet sc 100 won't start after putting it on it's side to sharpen blade.

Since you put it on its side, you most likely dumped all the oil from the crank area to the cylinder and carburetor. What you need to do is check engine oil to be sure it is full. Then take air filter off, clean the carburetor with carb cleaner. Remove spark plug, clean spark plug with carb cleaner. Pull the cord about a dozen times WITH THE SPARK Plug removed. Then install spark plug and try to start.

I have a 23hp Kawasaki on a mower that won't run without choking and then revup and down till it finally dies. I've changed the air filters. Any ideas on next step to correct?

If the mower has been in storage it is likely that the fuel has evaporated from the carburetor leaving a residue behind. This residue prohibits the fuel from reaching the fuel jets.

When choking the carburetor fuel is drawn into the intake and mixing with air an except-able combustion mix is achieved allowing for short runs.

Drain all the fuel from the engine and replace. Use a carberator additive that will clean the carburator. Attempt to maintain combustion by throttling the choke. If after several tryies you are not able to sustain engine running even with a paritial choke you will need to clean the carburabator.

Hope this had helped?

I have gas in my oil and gas is pouring out the spark plug hole wats the cause of this?? sears crafsman lt 1000 briggs and straton intek,18 hp needle valve in carb seems ok,fuel solenoid working wat...

Gas in the spark plug chamber should mean it is flooded.trying to start it for too much time with the choke on will do this.when starting cold, engage choke.turn engine over till it tries to start.if you can't disengage the choke before it stalls,do not re-engage the choke.just keep turning the engine over,or pull starting, whichever you have, until the unit starts.it will.for now,if the sp.plg.hole has fuel in it,blast compressed air to clear it somewhat,re-install sp.plug, never overtightening, just snug, and try starting without the choke.hope this is useful.bart.i am a certified small engine mech.and remember when finished, let unit idle for 2 min. Or so and cool before shutting off.change oil religously every 50hrs.for units over 10hp.,every 25 hours for engines below that.they will last a long time.clean air filter after every two or three uses.never empty fuel when storing, use STA-BIL.

Choke seems to be on... runs very rough....

There are several ways to do it
a. Check carburetor if not clean pump it on the intake if that not solve try to clean it. with Lacquer thinner to dissolve the dirt.
b. Check spark plug if some are not working. In checking try to pull one by one the high tension wire and listen if the sound vary if the sound remain when pulling one wire mean you have problem with your spark plug. So replace all spark plug with the same spec.
c. or lost compression on cylinder.
d Check if you fuel filter if some dirt and replace it.
e. Clean your air filter with compressor or replace it
f. Check the clearance to the Contact Point it must have 1 mm or .8 mm spacing when not at firing mode ( just like the thin of the hacksaw blade the space of the gap of the contact point.)

I had this saw tuned up a few years ago and put it away. I added new fuel (40 to 1 mix) took out the spark plug and checked the gap.025 and didn't even have to clean it. I set the choke to full, made sure...

I don't know the plug number. Off the shelf chain saw plug from small engine repair shop will replace existing plug.

First of all, are you getting spark?
Take out plug. Put spark wire on plug. Hole plug by spark wire. Touch metal threads of spark plug to metal part of engine block. Metal to metal. Pull cord. Look for spark between metals. If there is no spark, then spark coil is bad.

Look at exhaust port. Is there anything that would stop the exhaust from escaping?

Can you get to fuel line running into carburetor? See if gas makes it all the way to the carburetor.

Can you get to the air filter? Is it dirty? Can you spray WD-40 directly into carburetor. A saw that has good exhaust, spark and compression will fire on WD-40.

If your engine can fire on WD-40, but will not stay running, then carburetor is suspect. Maybe gum out will work. Try to keep the engine going on WD-40 and see if that opens the carburetor.

If you can keep engine going on WD-40, that takes both hands ... use your third hand to move choke and throttle levers and see if the engine can start on its own.

Upvote if this information helps. Thanks for the feedback.

I have CraftsmanLT1000 lawn tractor, Smokes heavily.

Many times a dirty air filter will cause this on this style of engine. When the filter is plugged, it creates a 'rich' fuel condition, and the engine smokes heavily, the excess carbon is drawn into the air filter, and plugs it even more.

check spark plugs, air filter, fuel filter, choke linkages (for full choke/no choke operation) and crankcase oil.

Crankcase oil can become fuel contaminated, thus overfilling the crankcase and filling the crankcase breather with raw oil/fuel, and this is drawn into the air filter, plugging it, and starting this senerio.

If there is fuel in the crankcase oil, drain completely, and refill with fresh oil. Then you need to look towards the carb for an inlet needle sticking, broken, worn.
