If ur tv a LCD tv it is a digital tv.U do not require a Digital converter box to get the new DTV free air signal broadcasting tv channels stations. But u do require a good digital antenna for it to recieve a long an strong signals to recieve a DTV free air broadcasting tv channels stations.
If you have the converter connected to the recorder by composite or s-video(line inputs), you will need to specify which jacks from within the setup menu of the recorder. There are 2 sets of line inputs into the recorder, so you have to select the right ones. They are called L-1 and L-2. The L-1 jacks are in the rear and the L-2 jacks are in the front. The channel selection should also be on L-1 or L-2. If you are using the RF input(fat cable) to the recorder, you should have the recorder on the channel number that matches the output of the converter (channel 3 or 4). The converter RF output is selected by a switch in back of the converter or by the setup menu of the converter.
Menu path for setting L-1 or L-2 inputs: Setup > General Setting > Video > Video Input > L-1 or L-2 > Video In or S-Video In
HAVE YOU TRIED GOING BACK TO YOUR MENU AND SELECTING AUTO CHANNEL SEARCH LIKE YOU DO WHEN YOU PROGRAM YOUR TV FOR THE FIRST TIME TO GET THE CHANNELS IN YOUR SERVICE AREA? IT SHOULD PULL IN CHANNELS 3 & 4 (PARDON THE CAPS)
There is a setting I think might be causing this. My mom had this
and we went into the menu and details there is a spot in there that
says 2 hour, 4 hour shut down and we turned it to off. Just a thought. Hope it works.
I assume you are attempting to connect another device to the set.
Selection of the output channel is normally accomplished from the external device, not the set.
