Hi,

please power cycle your dryer and check for the error again. Ensure that your the lint has been cleaned out of your dryer before checking for the error again. If still having issues, please check any initial document that has tips/trouble section to help overcome that specific error.

Can I use a heating element from a LG dryer in my Whirlpool?

I doubt very much that you can do that. They are made specifically for different brands and models.

Dryer goes on and spins but no heat. I've opened up the back but what now? Is there a specific part that if blown would cut off the heat? Model is a small one - probably cost about $300 - don't know the...

The thermal cut-off at the top of the heater duct/housing blows when the high-limit thermostat below it fails to cycle the heating element on and off properly to regulate the heater temperature. This thermal cut-off along with high-limit thermostat including the cycling thermostat on the blower housing are wired in series with the heating element and power to it is cut when the thermal cut-off blows as a safety feature to prevent fire. Verify this condition by bypassing the said components. Click on the link below for the detailed instructions in troubleshooting this problem.

Whirlpool LGN2000LW0 Dryer will not heat replaced Igniter and still will not heat, Igniter will not glow.

The problem is more likely a thermal fuse or thermal cut out. Here is a video that walks you thru testing these http://appliancehelponline.com/gdryertroublevideo.html

Always in high heat

I am assuming this is an electric dryer.

1) Thermostat may have failed.
2) Element may have broken at one point and shorted to ground.

Please reply your specific model number and I can help further.

Whirlpool gas dryer

From the sound of your problem, it appears you may have a faulty overtemp switch that gets too hot , opens the circuit to disable gas and flame, then cools down and allows it to start again.. Since you didn't provide a specific model number with your question.. use this link to find replacement whirlpool thermal fuses etc.. http://www.pcappliancerepair.com/whirlpool-dryer.php#fuse

Hope this helps..

Dryer is running but it's not hot

If the electronic start is not working, it may need to be replaced. Call an appliance parts store and ask some specific questions to them about how you can test that component and if they carry a replacement for your specific make and model. Good Luck!
