What you might want to do is check your antena. The inexpensive to way to check: Get a piece of wire about two feet long. Expose about an inch of wire. Remove the antena from the back of the radio. Use the above wire and insert into the antena port. Hang the reminder of the wire up so that it can receive a signal. If this works then you have a bad antena. If you have the same problem, the problem is internal and will probably have to be taken to a service location.
