Sounds like an interconnecting wiring error. Check wiring connection i.e. wires are connected in right order 1 to1 2 to 2 etc. from indoor terminal board to outdoor terminal board. Also check for slack or loose connections.

Please help! brand new daikin vrv system only run for a month and it is not cold anymore.
Time Out ! If this is only a couple of months old,You need to get the installing contractor back out to the installation. Explain the observations, and ask him/her to diagnose and fix the problem. It sounds like the refrigerant (R-410A) has developed a leak that needs to be fixed ASAP.,then recharged.

Error message U4
Signal transmission error. Indoor and outdoor PCB's cannot communicate. Usually a faulty controller board in the outdoor unit. If the indoor unit otherwise functions normally (can control fan speed, louvres, beeps in replay to all remote buttons) then it is probably OK so check outdoor controller PCB.

U4 Is a communication error between indoor and outdoor units.
usually means one of the PC boards is faulty. If unit has been freshly installed check wiring between indoor and outdoor 1,2,3 are the same colours on both boards.

This is a communication issue between the indoor and outdoor units.

This fault can be caused a issue with the interconnecting wiring such as an induced voltage on the Communication cable or even if a Drain Pump has been installed incorrectly external to the Daikin Unit.

Ensure that the Outdoor unit has power to it and that the Main PCB has a Green Flashing (HAP) LED on it to show that it is powered up.
