Cant play computer disks such as pictures

Computer disc are written in a format that PS3's read, if you want to play photos or what not you need to burn your disc using like Nero or Power DVD to say the least, you need to select picture CD not DATA or otherwise.

If your doing music you need to burn using make music CD not just drag and drop.

Try burning using picture CD format then update me with any questions you may have or problems that may arise from this solution.

Hint!

If you got a SD CARD you can put the photos on it and the ps3 will pick those up just fine!

Let me know how it works out.

Thanks

Change the association

Open explorer window
Navigate to the image file you want to change association, e.g psd, img tiff

Right click on file
Select Open With
Choose the program you would like to have open the files
You can also set the default program to open the files, just select choose default program

I have the camera and plug but no cd

When you connect the camera to the computer, it probably creates a USB flash drive in My Computer - you should be able to view and copy the photos from there. You could also check Vivitar's Website to download the OEM software, or Download.com for some generic photo-editing software.

How can i change the format that my "magix Photostory CD & DVD" program burns my pictures/music to a DVD that WILL play on a home DVD player and not just a computer? I have a Windows XP

There are three ways to create a Video CD (VCD) that contains your photo stories:
You can obtain Microsoft Plus! Digital Media Edition and view the Photo Story 3-authored WMV file in Photo Story 2 by going to Play your story or create a video CD of your story and then create a VCD.using the Photo Story 2 Video CD-burning feature.
• You can obtain Microsoft Digital Image Suite 10 or above and view the Photo Story 3-authored WMV file in the Photo Story that comes with the Digital Image Library and save and burn to VCD.
• You can obtain VCD-authoring products that work with Photo Story files, such as MyDVD by Sonic Solutions or InstantCD\DVD by Pinnacle Systems. You can use these software to convert the Windows Media video (WMV) files into files that can be copied to a DVD and played in a DVD player.
Note: VCD and DVD-authoring software is not included with Photo Story 3.

Downloading photos from Canon 400D direct to Canons photo editing programmes on new windows Vista computer.

There are two ways to solve this problem. I am assuming you are simply clicking on the pictures and choosing "edit" or double clicking on the pictures and they are opening in "Vista picture editing"
The first way to overcome this is by opening the desired program first (in this case canon's photo editor) and then choose open and find the desired photos.
The other way is to set the file type association in vista so that RAW programs open with the canon program see below for step by step:
1. Click Start
2. Click default programs on the black bar
3. Click Associate a file type or protocol with a program
4. Find the file types you want to open automatically in your canon editing program (RAW .jpg etc)
5. Click once at the top of the page click change program
6. A new window will open, if it does not list the correct program click browse at the bottom of the window and find your editor in it's folder.
7. Select the desired program by double clicking
8. Click OK
9. Click close
10. Test the new file association by double clicking a RAW file or one of the other file types and see if it loads into the correct program.

The final (and this is simply my plug for open source programs) solution would be to try something like GIMP (it is a photo editing suite developed under linux but adapted for windows) you can search for it on google.

If you are having trouble with any of these steps please post a comment and I will try and add some clarification.
Hope this helps
