Tried to turn on tv with remote, no picture, tv kept turning of and on by itself, then will not turn off...DVD plays on correct channel but no picture...can't get other stations with Dish because can't see channel setting on black screen...now tv will not respond to remote and continues to remain on

there is most likely a prob. with the keybd. switches all need to be replaced at the same time.

Another method you may want to try is to take the remote and quickly and repetatively press the power button. This rapid cycling of the power is enough to unstick most stuck power relays and you don't have to get into the insides of your television.

your tv should be a multisystem. Is there an option between NTSC and PAL on your TV when you tried the menu on your remote?

common fault this , normally the fuse has failed on y-main board due to shorted thick film unit

Mine was doing the same thing. Update the firmware and it fixes the problem. Updating the firmware is done by downloading the file to a thumb-drive from the phillips product support page then plugging in the drive into the side of your television and turning it on. See your manual for slightly better instructions.
