Press and hold the Power button, and, whilst keeping it pressed, briefly press the reset pin with the stylus pen (a paper clip would also do the job). When the 'Palm Powered' logo comes up, release the Power button. A warning message asking for confirmation will appear. Confirm by pressing the D-pad's Up button.
By the way, if you happen to miss your device's user guide, feel free to download it from this location.
Hope you are able to sort your problems out.
Regards, Carlos

SOURCE: How do I make a hard reset on my Palm Zire 31 PDA?

I did not write the posting attributed to me. I have a Palm Tungsten E. My Dad had been using it and I needed to know how to do a hard reset so it would accept my info. I found that on the Palm site after looking on your site. I performed the hard reset and hot synced the Palm with my info.

Thank you, Sue Nutt

I have a Tungsten E2 that is about 2 years old. I would like to give it to a family member but want to "clear" the memory of all my personal data first. How can I do that?

Hi,

This is easy. Perform a hard reset. Follow this link to the official site instructions:

Simple?

How do i reset my palm back to factory settings

According to the manual a hard reset will erase all of the user data on the device and restore it to the factory settings. On the Palm Tungsten E2, you can do this by holding down the power button while pressing the reset button on the back of the device. When you release the power button, you will then confirm the hard reset by following the directions on the screen.

My palm e2 screen brings a frozen screen even after reset and no button whatsoever works, it can reset but freezes on the screen again, that is 0 alerts. even the power button does not work, only reset,...

You can try doing a hard reset. A hard reset will delete everything on your device. All your data will be deleted, and formats, preferences and other settings are restored to their factory default settings. Don't perform a hard reset unless you've backed up your data, or you're willing to lose everything. Here is the link for directions for the Hard Reset:

Damaged screen

Try a hard reset and if that doesn't work, drain your battery then recharge it. if that doesn't work than you'll just have to deal with it. I have a Palm Tungsten E2 and it has the same problem
