HP 75 tricolor cartridge is not designed for PSC 2355.If you try to install it,you'll get a message incompatible ink cartridge or cartridge problem.using a different cartridge may also damage the chip embedded in the printer.do not use hp 75 as a replacement for hp 95.
It means you have a faulty or incorrect cartridge installed on the right side position. It could also mean the contacts are dirty or misaligned. Remove the cartridge, clean with rubbing alcohol and reinstall.
This is not a unknown error particularly if you are using cartridges other than the HP brand. Other people will tell you it is fine to use off brand cartridges or refilled cartridges. For myself, I have never had luck doing that - on the other hand, I have never been disappointed using the more expensive cartridges recommended by the manufacturer across several brands including Epson, Canon, Compaq and HP.
Try cleaning the contacts and ink jets. You may have to replace the cartridge. If that is the case, I would return the faulty cartridge and get a store credit.
Just a few thoughts for you to consider. Thank you for using FixYa.com today.
Vista has had notoriously poor driver support, but it is improving. There is no reason I can think of the driver above wouldn't work. But if this is the case the generic HP deskjet drivers will work.
I've refilled cartridges twice so far. The first time, the black was completely empty and the color was nearly empty. The printer accepted the color refill and not the black. The second time, I refilled both cartridges before they completely ran dry and both were accepted by the printer. The gauges don't register the ink, but it prints just fine. I just monitor the levels through the print quality. A friend with the same printer has told me that she only get 2 - 3 refills before the cartridge has to be reset, and that is a tricky process, but can be done.
If problem is what I think it is (that is if you cleaned whole thing and it is connected proprely), you have only one option. To buy at least three cartridges...problem is due a small trick made by HP. Printer remembers at least two cartridge serial numbers, and then wont accept refilled ones. But if you first stick one, then the other, and on the end the third one(only this one should be really full) it should reset printer and it should foul it to accept it. But on some printers it needs up to five cartridges! What a waste of money :(
Anyway, hope this helps...
