Ice maker leaking

Are you sure it's the ice maker that's leaking? We have this model & ours accumulates a HUGE iceberg in the bottom of the freezer, but the water seems to be coming out of the back, at the bottom of the back panel, where the vents are.

FRIGIDARE FRS26ZSEB: Freezer side, bottom collects ice and then leaks out the door.

If you get ice in the freezer, start checking if the evaporator fan and the defrost system is working.

Try doing a complete defrost, ofthen this can solve the problem.

Cause for ice in the fridge can be evaporator/defrost syste, bad gasket, faulty thermistor.

There is an intermittent leak coming from the freezer

Clean the drain tray and drain line in the back of the freezer section, located behind the back cover and underneath the evaporator coil. (hint: use turkey baster with hot water) Make sure water drains when you pour it in. If it doesn't - also clean drain tube on the back of the unit behind the cover. When done - make sure to put the tube exactly where it was.
Good luck! :)

Intermittant water leak front left hand side and ice build up on inside base of freezer compartment, but no evidence of water leaking out from door it seems to come from underneath the appliance.

Sounds like the drain hose from fridge unit to evaporator pan built on top of compressor is plugged. The drain holes are small and clog easily. I like to make the holes bigger. A pipe cleaner helps to clean the inside of the drain hose.
Make sure water is dripping onto evap tray.

10 yr old GE side by side: freezer is leaking

Your drain is frozen up and so every time unit goes into defrost the water refreezes in the freezer's bottom. You either have to shut fridge off completely and let it dethaw or use hot water and an ice pick to hurry up the process. The drain is located in the very back of freezer. You will have to pull out the bottom drawer to see it. Good luck

Water leaking from freezer

Check for a blocked defrost drain. Take the panel off at the back of the freezer section and find the small hole at the very bottom center below the cooling coils. Use hot (but not boiling) water and a turkey baster to flush it out until water runs through it. (it will go into the defrost drain pan, where it will evaporate)
This will prevent water from comming out the freezer door and leaking onto your floor and running down your copper pipe to the basement.

the middle insulation hasbecome water logged, forma faulty defrost tube, so, every time trhe unit defrost, 2 maybe 3 times a day it will spill water inti the vents, andin to the refrig, the only correct way to fix is to have the enitre center drain block replaced, part not that expensive but labor to install may be, ohter then nussincence, not really affecting machines workings

We have a side by side refrigerator/freezer. a water drip runs down the grille on the freezer side. a small amount. we cannot locate where the water comes from. Can you help?? model #ed20tqxfn00 Al...

If you have ice and water in the freezer door it would appear that the water line going to the water dispensor has a leak. First check where the door hindges at the bottom as this is where the line runs from the water container located in the fresh food compartment to the water dispensor in the freezer door.
