it's more likey the faceplate, and where it makes contacts with the unit. if you try applying pressure and moving the detachable faceplate on while attached and it turns on, there could be a cold solder/loose connection on the board.
this deck has a detachable faceplate right? what you need to do is take the faceplate off and you will find 6-12 gold pins or strips of metal, you need to take rubbing alcohol and a q-tip and clean the contacts on the faceplate and on the deck side, also if the metal strips are only mounted on one side you can take a sewing needle and bend them out slightly, not too much because you could break them off though, if this helped you, please leave posative feedback thanks :)
I lost my faceplate for my radio I looked for it for 2 month and the way I found it was at ebay.com
they sell the remote too I payed $65.00 for them both .Good luck!
error code 6 - the cd's table of contents cannot be read (for example, disc is upside down or scratched to hell)
try to get another cd to work, or reburn the same cd and see if it works then. if none of the cd's work, maybe its time to call up the service department for clarion (800-462-5274) and see what they can do if anything.
mine was stolen too. I thin you need to contact the seller or manufacturer to find out. If it is the same model number as it is on the main cd player part then I think it can work. But suggest you to contact the manufacturer.
To reduce theft, most car stereos with detachable faceplates are keyed together -- that is, they are not interchangeable. It is unlikely that you will be able to find a replacement faceplate, unfortunately.
