Idj2 wont recognize ipod after ejecting during library making

connect the ipod to PC..... first make sure you have the latest Itunes (http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/) 10.2.2 now plug ipod to PC..... Itunes should pop up automatic... now check to see if your ipod has the latest firmware for its generation (ipod touch 2gen) if not update it, this should also help the docking problems...now (always always eject your ipod, do not ever ever just unplug the ipod)

slot it in the top and it will load to the display

some songs are protected files and wont load. i know dude, i cant play 15% of my library. very frustrating. apple made no friends on that one.

Located at http://www.numark.com/idj2 there is a link called iPod compatibility matrix v1.6 this link tells you which versions of the iPod work great with the idj2 and which versions of the iPod make you want to pick up your idj2 and smash it against a brick wall. Sadly, the iPod Touch falls into the "smash" catagory.

Generation 1 iPod Touch devices can only be used in "DIRECT MODE ONLY" which means you can use them like a cd player or as a music source on 1 channel of the mixer of the idj2.

Both Generation 1 and Generation 2 iPod Touch devices are not supported to be used with the idj2 in "MASS STORAGE MODE".

The current firmware available is version v1.13 which is located at http://www.numark.com/idj2 . It also has Librarian v1.5 included with it.

Download the firmware to your PC and then unzip it to your desktop where you can retrieve it easily.

Transfer the firmware file to the handy little 128mb thumb drive that came with the idj2. (I moved all of the files from the thumb drive on to my PC so the firmware file was the only file on my thumb drive to avoid any computer related confusion)

Making sure your idj2 is powered "OFF" insert the thumb drive containing firmware v1.13 into one of the rear USB ports. Make sure this is the only thing plugged into the idj2 at this time(no keyboard, ect)

Turn on the idj2 on. You will see a message that says the machine is checking the firmware.(I don't have the system in front of me right now but that is roughly what it says) It will take a few minutes and the system will update to the new firmware.

The idj2 doesn;t search off your ipod. you have to put libraries together with the librarian tool.

Here is a manual for your idj2 it's clear and will tell you how to import a library to your computer for search and play.

Is the ipod charged? I have had the same issue, because the mixer charges as it plays i have had to wait a few minutes and tryed again. Hope this helps I use a thirty gig as well as a nano for a back-up

I have the same problem. But it's easy to fix. You must connect your ipod to a pc and then you must go to My computer>(select your ipod and open the folder) and then delete the folder -   .Library   - It's done!
