New ink cartridge put in today, printing out faded and with line thru font

First before you buy a new cartridge,try doing a 'printhead' cleaning on your machine.Sometimes the printheads need cleaning clogginl.

There are two posible reasons for that: 1.Your ink cartridges has run almost out of ink. 2.The ink cartridges head has gone dry or durty. The best you can do is to buy yourself a new ink cartridges.

You actually answered your own question, you said it started fading and came out with lines missing. Looks like and could possibly be that the ink cartridge you are using wasn't as full as you thought it was, and the computer really has no idea, it's just software and i do not recall seeing sensors on the inside of the ink tank to tell the computer how much ink is in the cartridge. Try refilling the ink again or maybe a better idea is to buy a new cartridge since over time the cartridges can get contaminants in them which will block the ink from the inside of the cartridge.

TRY TO ADJUST THE MANAGE COLOR LOCATING ON YOUR COMPUTER FIND IT AND ADJUST THE DARK COLOR

the print heads are gummed up with old ink and you need to clean them with an old rag and alcohol..then it will print normally....

Good day sir/maam, hi, when you test print it usually prints letters and no lines are printed. try first if the printer is setup to economy/draft or pictures, if lines are faded, the ink cartridges maybe dirty. manual cleaning is needed, the ink path starts from the ink cartridge to the cradle or carrier then to paper. so any dried ink that blocks the path can affect the printout. you can use warm water to loosen dried ink. remove the cartridges and cradle from the printer as you clean them.

It sounds like you need to run a printhead cleaning. The print head is what you put the ink cartridges into, it's responsible for placing ink directly to the page. If the some of the nozzles are clogged up, it can give you bad print quality. Without knowing the exact model of your printer, I can't tell you exactly where to find the menus needed to run the cleaning. Beleive it or not, sometimes a new cartridge comes with the ink clogged too, put both color cartridges over a wet towel with windows cleaner by 5 minutes, then clean both with a dry towel, try to print, if the quality print stay bad, you have to suspect the printer cartridge contacts, check if are clean (if you have to clean it, do that with the printer off), if the fail continues try to use the manufacturer warranty

This is the same problem I have with my Kodak ESP-3 printer. Even after installing new cartridges I had faded color and lines (banding) thru the picture. I found many people wit the same problem and found out that Kodak had a very large batch of defective printer heads that were sent out with the ESP and 5500 series printers. I called Kodak customer sevice, the automated systym even has a number to push for the problem printers. Then you get a live tech person who runs you thru some diognostic steps. They are well aware of the problem and will send you a new printer head and cartidges for free and they pay the postage.

hi, i was having the exact same problem with my printer. and i also tried reinstalling the driver. after reading your post i decided to see if the printing problem occurred when i used the other colors, and it looks like it's only a problem with the black ink. i printed out a sheet with the text in red and another in blue and they came out perfectly. but the black grid that surrounded the blue text, still looked problematic.

so... that means that the black ink is the problem. i haven't tried putting in a new cartridge. did you say that your problem occurred after you put in a new black cartridge, or did you try putting in a new black cartridge and you still had the same problem?
