restart from your original cd/dvd that came with the computer, then open disk utility and run disk permission and disk repairs from the utility
Kev.
www.apple-core.co.uk
In the shooting mode, press up-arrow on the multiselector (marked with a lightning bolt). Select the no-flash icon (lightning bolt in a circle with a slash through it), then press OK.
Not a good sign but not the end of the world.
Put the install disk into the Mac and hold down the option key (in a moment you'll see two disk icons appear) once you see the icons, click on the install DVD then up arrow in the circle.
When you get to the install screen click next thru the next couple of screens. You should see a menu bar at the top of your screen, click and hold on utilities then select Disk Utilities.
When Disk Utilities is running on the left side of the window select your Hard drive (not the DVD)
On the right hand side some new options should appear, Click on First Aid if not already selected then click Repair Disk Permissions.
When complete restart the machine normally (DVD should eject)
If that does not fix it you'll need to try the install again.
reinstall your computer maybe or go to finder, account name, music, itunes itunes music and delte some of the songs or copy to backup them and see if itunes will work
I know someone else who has that problem.
You don't have any commands that will run them it may need to have its current OS reloaded onto it. Computer gets wiped save your information first. Then rebuild with cd or firewire.
Hi, Sorry to hear you are having problems,
You are describing something quite strange, normally, you get one of those 3 images.
The circle with a slash through it indicates that your system cannot boot that model Mac.
The folder with the ? flashing indicates that a Boot drive cannot be found.
And the Apple Icon indicates that the system is now Booting.
So, your MacBook Pro is suffering from multiple personality disorder.
You would do best to re-install the system right over your old system using the ( Archive and Install ) Option making sure you keep your existing users.
Also, be sure to run Disk Utilities before installing the System, run Repair Disk and Repair Permissions on your internal drive a few times until there are no more problems found, then install.
Once you have done this, your Mac should boot up properly. You will then need to run Software update a few times until there are no more updates.
Sounds intimidating, but don't fret, it's one step at a time..
Needs more Information. Full model number, Version of XP, with what service pack, Amount of memory, How big the drive is, what is installed. Also, let me know what icon or program is having the slash thru it on the bottom.
Dogz and Catz 5 both seem to have alot of problems! Disk space means you dont have enough room to copy it onto your computer, I would suggest deleting some downloaded things (nothing important though, you dont want to mess up your computer, lol)
