This is do to the jack were the power button board plugs into the motherboard, i see this alot on d600 and d610, the lights come on for about 3 sec then computer turns off..
this can be fixed by resoldering the plug to the motherboard but most will say you need a new mother board the leads are small and tight together..
it is specified outsiide the cd drive "compact disk writable or rewritable" if it is written compact disk writable outside then you can burn cd . other wise it does not have writable facility.
and according to my knowledge it has only cd reading facility. so can't burn cd.
