While your holding in the knob after lighting the pilot, their is a thermocoupler that is heating up and will hold automatically what your pushing in, that thermocoupler is defective
I had a similar problem when my new Leisure cooker was installed last December. The burners would light when I held the knobs in but when I let go the flame would go out. The engineer took off each of the burner knobs and stuck a small wad of aluminium foil between the inside of the knob and the contact on the front of the cooker - he said it's a design fault and the gap is just a bit too large for contact to be made reliably. This fixed the problem and I've had no trouble since.
Turn on the gas knob for the oven (below the grill) You will see an ignition button below the one that switches on the oven light,it is clearly marked. Press in and hold the gas knob and press ignite button, you will see the safety bar flame light, when the safe to operate temperature is reached, the oven will stay lit after you release the gas supply knob. Set oven temperate guage (gas mark 4 is approx electric 200 degrees, thats all there is too it Hope that helps [email protected]
