is too old for Windows 7 operating system. This camera works only with Windows XP and Vista. Check Sony Support after some time (months) for any driver update, if Sony release it. Thanks.
Always check the batteries first but if is it still giving the same fault, your camera is faulty. It should be taken to an authorized repair centre for a repair estimate. Very few digital cameras have any user-serviceable parts.

I've come across a few infolithium batteries which show empty but they have been fully charged. It turned out to be the circuitry in the battery which is supposed to tell you how much power is left being faulty. Both were replaced under warranty.
When the fault occured in a Sony 505V the battery was still fully useable apart from the icon flashing flat battery.
