Computer doesn't recognize vertabim when plugged in

When i plugged it in previously, it always showed up in "My computer" and I could then upload pictures, video, word etc. Now, this evening, I'm getting a message that asks me to formal the local drive "D" when I plug it in. I tried the other USB plugs and that doesn't seem to do it either.
I'm really concerned that my verbatim has somehow been wiped of all the video and pictures i've uploaded. Can you help?
Thanks a lot...

Maybe the the problem occur during your USB unplug without proper remove..
in the right side lower screen ..if you inserted a device like USB it will appear hardware...then if you finished working you must proper remove by clicking the icon below and the right click then proper remove..
if you remove your USB without proper procedure..the data maybe lost in some cases...

USB will not recognize Nikon D40 Digital Camera

You asked about the USB connection between your camera and the computer. First, be sure you are using an approved USB cord that came with your camera. Nikon gets a little finicky if you use an off brand. Next, be sure your USB outlet is working on your computer. Plug something else into it to be sure it's functional. Next, reboot your computer and shut off your camera. After reboot turn your camera on to see if the computer now recognizes your camera.

It would help to know what software you're using for the post processing. Some software has an option to disallow uploading of duplicate photos. This could be the case if you've already uploaded these same images previously. You might want to check for that.

My computer doesn't recognize my camera to upload my pictures. What can I do?

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as PIcasa.

I don't know how to upload my vids to the pc

There are two way to upload your video's to your pc:

  1. You can upload video to the use of your camcorder connector. Connect your USB cable to your camcorder and plug it to your computer. You need to turn on your camcorder so that it will be recognized by the computer.
  2. You can upload also your video's with the use of memory card reader. Remove your memory card from your camcorder and insert it to the card reader. Plug the card reader to the computer. The computer will recognized the card. Now you can upload your photo's or video's.
Good luck!

My computer is not showing when my camera is plugged in

Make sure the camera is turned on, plug the USB cable into your PC first, then into the camera, wait for a beep from your PC to show it has recognized the hookup, then go to "My Computer" and look for the Fuji icon. Don't unplug the camera anytime the lights are flashing on it.

Coolpix3200

Check by plugging it into the other USB Port, sometimes a port refresh helps, Some times if you start up your mac with the camera plugged in it only thinks it has a drive there...swap to the other drive and wait to see if it is recognised, you can also open drive utility and look for it there as a Plug in Drive... this may help as it may show up there unmounted, if so then click the Mount Button. ...C

Won't Upload Songs

player has problems with windows media player 11. works with wmp 10. player also has problems with vista. firmware was designed for xp. no firmware updates available. you can try dragging and dropping through windows explorer, treating it as a usb mass storage device. it will play folders and songs this way. to get vista to recognize it, format the player through the player's menu ( set-system-format ) not through the computer. take out the battery for 15 minutes. reboot your computer. put battery back in. plug into usb port. hopefully vista recognizes it as usb device

Camera can't upload pictures

You can reinstall the software. But a really good solution is a card reader. They are cheap and reliable and don't need any software. When you plug it in, it will install itself, and then when you put your car in the reader its like an extra little hard drive in your computer. Just drage the files or folders where you want them on your computer. Less wear and tear on the camera is always good and then you don't need to plug in power or waste batteries if you don't have a dock.
