Making homemade ice cream for your family can be lots of fun during the hot summer months.

  1. After preparing and refrigerating your ice cream recipe, pour chilled ice cream into cooled ice cream can.
  2. Fill ice cream can 3/4 full; mixture will expand.
  3. Insert the dasher making sure it is positioned correctly into the can indentation.
  4. Place cover on ice cream can.

Ice cream maker 8401
I have the Rival Electric Ice Cream Maker 8401. The manual that came with it lists these models on the front: 8405, 8420, 8455-X, 8550-X, 8605, 8620. It doesn't list 8401 but it is the only one I have ever owned and it is the right manual. I need the aluminum ice cream can. Mine was damaged.
