Will not advance automatically through cycles. Have to manually select the next cycle. Stops at wash cycle. Wash hot and cold lights flash. Have to select the next cycle. Have already tried a brand new control board and that did not work.

I would have thought it was the board too! does it beep when it stops? if it does then it should be putting up a fault code.top row of lights..CHeck that you have both the hot & cold hoses connected & turned on at the taps.even if you are not useing hot water to wash with, turn them both on anyway. Some machines require this regardless of wether you are useing hot.The reason for this is F&P have built into their machines to give a little squirt of hot water to maintain a certain level of cold wash.Make sure also that hot hose is going to hot valve & cold to cold.

I understand that your washer is not advancing and stuck on one cycle. If you provide a Model and serial number, it will be helpful.

Whirlpool dryer shuts off at the end of cycle, but timer continues to tick. It ticks through the next cycle and stops ticking at that cycles off?

follow this steps and fix it. God bless you

The timer could be the problem. To check this, turn the timer to a timed cycle say 30 minutes or so then time it. If in 30 minutes the timer hasn't moved and the dryer is still on, the timer is faulty replace it If in 30 minutes the dryer is off, the heating element is your problem

Heating Element
This is the most likely cause for some dryers timer not advancing. Some dryers have two heating elements and if one goes out the timer will not advance if you use it on an automatic cycle but you will still feel heat inside the tub. Replace it.

My washer won't change cycles on it's own. I have to change it's cycle manually. What do you think is the problem?

well if your saying that when you select a cycle and start a load andtrhe washer timer isnt advancing to the end of cycle then you have a timer problem...... but if it stops before rinse and spin in every cycle i would say you have a bad lid switch...

Machine will not automatically advance thru cycles

The timer has a motor used to advance it through the cycles. If the machine fills with water and the timer stays in one position no matter where you put it......even in the spin cycle, then replace your timer.

Won,t drain on rinse cycle

There could be several causes for this, but probably a bad timer. One test for this...when it stops...is to turn it off...and turn the timer slightly clockwise...to the middle of the rinse cycle...and turn it back on. Does it run then?? Try advancing it to the spin cycle after the rinse. If it runs okay after you manually advance the knob...the timer is probably defective.

Timer stuck on cycle will work if manually moved

The timer has a small motor that advances it through the cycles. It either works or it's DOA. unfortunately you probably have to replace the timer complete.
