DVD/VCR connect to TV sound but no picture

The TV has a TV/VCR button which when pushed puts it into "aux" mode. I get a picture for 10 seconds and sound but then the picture cuts off. It works fine in regular TV mode but cannot get the aux device to display the picture. Any advice?

I am sorry to say that this does not sound like a simple solution for your problem. It is hard to be sure without examining the situation but, If the video comes on breifly and, then goes away it sounds like something is heating up and, then opening up and, disrupting your video. It could be something in the stabilization. You will need to refer this problem to a qualified repair technician. If you want to keep the TV and, since it does work in TV mode I would suggest that if you want to use the RCA type jacks to connect a VCR/DVD or what have you that you get an RF modulator to connect thru the co-ax. This way you can connect your Cable/satelite to the co-ax connector and, your VCR/DVD player to the RCA on the Modulator. These are availible at radio shack and can also be found on ebay. I hope this helps at all. [email protected]

How do i program my remote

Hello;

Without knowing the codes for the specific brand names and models of your devices, this is how you program the Zenith MBR3447 for your TV, VCR, DVD Player, CD Player or Audio Receiver:

TV

1. Push the "Power" button on the TV to turn it on.
2. Press and hold the "PRG" button in the upper left corner of the remote. Release when the indicator light, located in the top center of the remote control, comes on.
3. Push the "TV" mode key located at the top of the remote.
4. Enter 0 -- 0 -- 0 on the remote's number pad, then press the "Enter" button.
5. Aim the remote control in the direction of the TV's IR sensor and push the "Power" button. Pause a second. If the TV fails to shut off, push the "Power" button again. Repeat until the TV does shut off. Each time the "Power" button is pressed the Zenith MBR3447 tries using a different TV device code from its code library to turn the TV off. Therefore, when the TV finally does shut off it's an indication that the remote is temporarily programmed with the correct device code to control the brand of TV you're using.
6. Press "Enter" to save the current code.

VCR

1. Push the "Power" button on the VCR to turn it on.
2. Press and hold the "PRG" button in the upper left corner of the remote. Release when the indicator light, located in the top center of the remote control, comes on.
3. Push the "VCR" mode key located at the top of the remote.
4. Enter 0 -- 0 -- 0 on the remote's number pad, then press the "Enter" button.
5. Aim the remote control in the direction of the VCR's IR sensor and push the "Power" button. Pause a second. If the VCR fails to shut off, push the "Power" button again. Repeat until the VCR does shut off. Then press "Enter."

DVD Player, CD Player or Audio Receiver

1. Push the "Power" button on the device your programming the remote to control to manually turn it on.
2. Press and hold the "PRG" button in the upper left corner of the remote. Release when the indicator light, located in the top center of the remote control, comes on.
3. Push the "AUX" mode key located at the top of the remote.
4. Enter 0 -- 0 -- 0 on the remote's number pad, then press the "Enter" button.
5. Aim the remote control in the direction of the device's IR sensor and push the "Power" button. Pause a second. If the device fails to shut off, push the "Power" button again. Repeat until the device does shut off. Then press "Enter."

How to program the autio vidio inputs for zenith tv

Hi cathie
If you have sound it means that the tv is in aux/video mode.
Now make sure that the video output of the vcr is connected to the same aux/video input that has the sound connected to. i.e input 1 or 2 .
Also you want to try and switch with another cable to make sure that the cable you are using now is o.k.
Another way to try the tv input would be to connect something else in that input(cable box ,dvd ,video game etc,)
Try it and let me know.

never done this myself, but I would guess you take phono jacks from your TV (L & R out) and plug them into the back of the sound processor, iether VDP(AUX) or VCR(EXT) IN
then go to your remote and press (vcr(ext)/vdp(aux) repeat pressing until you hear you tv
each time you press button it should go through a selector menu
TUNER->DVD->TAPE>VCR(EXT)->VDP(AUX)

How Do I Get a DVD to Work with This TV?

Make sure to switch the TV's tuner mode to Video or Aux mode.
You can change the mode using the original TV remote or directly from the TV's control panel.

Again, tuner mode picks up all live broadcast airwaves and Video or Auxillary mode displays what is inputed into the TV via second device..

Good Luck!

If you are useing RCA connecter change to a coax connection. In otherwords change to another connection type. The combo dvd/vcr units are not built very well.

Auxiliary button on tv remote (I believe) needs off and I can't get figure out how...

The remote should have TV, VCR, AUX and maybe CABLE buttons at the top, one of which will light up when any button is pressed. Since it is a universal remote, the button at top lights up to let you know what mode it is in. If the AUX button lights up when any button is pressed, it means the remote is currently set to the AUX mode. To set it back to TV, simply press the TV button at the top. This puts the remote back in the TV mode and the TV button should now light up when any button is pressed. If that works and you are using a cable box with that set, then make sure the TV is on channel 3 by pressing 3 ENTER.

Tvs usualy have a few ways to hook them up. One is a coax cable this is the silver one in the back that you screw in a cable. The second are RCA cables these are the ones that are yellow, red and white. Yellow is always the video and white and red are for audio. If your using the coax cable your tv needs to be on channel 3 or 4 you may have to force the tv to go to that channel by pushing 03 on the remote. If you are using the Rca cables then you need to change the tv to "video 1" or "video 2" this changes the tv from tunner mode to aux input mode. Most DVD players dont have a coax out so you have to use the rca plugs. Some tvs have the rca plugs on the front (video 2) and the back (video 1) or line in. Some tvs have line out also so you need to figure out wich way you have it hooked up. Do a search for the model of your tv and it should show a diagram on how to hook it up.
